When a '70s film with a limited budget has effects that still manage to outclass the crap you see on most SyFy Channel movies that says a lot. That looks so much better than a lot of the discount CGI we get shoveled in a lot of today's fare.

^YES! -CGI has become an excuse for making shitty effects instead of the next grand leap it initially promised to be -well, a lot of productions treat it like that.

And while some are a bit on the puppetry-side of things, most Anderson-productions sport fantastic model-work.
