Which of you fans saw the Next Generation TV finale as it was meant to be-a 2 hour TV Movie of the week-and which first saw it as an edited two-parter?

... first saw it as an edited two-parter
As I understand it, there was a scripted natural break, half way through. And there was a "here's what happen in the last episode" recap too.

As anything actually edited out of the two parter?

:)

I'm pretty sure that's always been the case for 2-hour episodes that are subsequently broken up, though in this particular case I'm not sure what wouldn't have made the cut. I seem to remember missing content though.

I saw it when it first came out. I found the season as a whole lacking in luster, but the Finale was cool and mostly what I wanted to see.

I wished it hadn't been quite so Picard-centric nor featured somewhat of a reset-button ending, but those items aside I thought it was a wonderful episode.

One scene for sure was taken out, when old Picard bumps into a crewman on the Enterprise 25 years in the future and gets directions to 10-Forward. Really, nothing lost there.

I *think* I remember reading that the aged Q and old Picard scene was deleted for time when it was split into two.

I'm 100% certain of the first, but don't remember how accurate my memory is of the 2nd (I first saw it "live" on the night if first aired, and have seen it split up in reruns, but it's been awhile since I've seen them split up since I got the DVDs when they first came out)

Is that the part where Q is using the ear horn? Because I sem to remember that missing in reruns as well.
