All Good Things - The anomoly

USS Excelsior

Commodore
Commodore
If the anomoly fills the entire quadrant of the galaxy 4 billion years ago, then doesn't that mean that Picard causes the destruction of humanity and everyone else too in the quadrant?

Yes, and eventually the entire universe (except for the higher beings like the Q who exist on a different plan entirely).

Not necessarily. The anomoly could just have caused the amino acids that would've caused the first protein to never meet up...making Earth a dead rock in space.

I'd think that if the Anomaly was big enough to fill the entire Quadrant by that point, it would have swallowed up quite a few planets as well including the homeworlds of numerous species.

Not necessarily. The anomoly could just have caused the amino acids that would've caused the first protein to never meet up...making Earth a dead rock in space.

Which doesn't really follow what was said about human origins in The Chase, but never mind :)

Easily reconciled, the alien seeding simply made extra sure that when it happened the first proteins would definitely form and life would definitely emerge.

Not counting reality altering time rifts, of course.

More like the Moore Approximation. He wrote "The Chase" and was the co-writer of "All Good Things..." so he must have known about it too.

I don't see a problem between The Chase and All Good Things. There had to be some form of life on Earth for the common species in The Chase to have co-mingled it's DNA with... It didn't say that that species was the origin of life on Earth... just that Klingons, Cardassians, Humans and Vulcans had a common ancestor.

Actually, I think they did pretty much say that the Progenitors seeded the primordial oozes of all those worlds to ensure that whatever life evolved there would ultimately have a form derived from the Progentior's DNA.
