PICARD: Excuse me. Put him through here. [a beardless Riker in a scene from "The Arsenal of Freedom" appears on the monitor] Commander Riker. I wanted to inform you that we'll be delayed in picking you up at Farpoint Station.

RIKER : I see. May I ask how long?

PICARD: I can't say. I'll keep you updated. Will you inform Doctor Crusher and Lieutenant La Forge of our delay?

 

[Alienesse]

Riker (on monitor): "Understood."

 

[Leandar]

Picard: Is there anything else, Counselor?

 

[Alienesse]

Troi: "Actually, sir, there is. I was debating whether to mention it, and perhaps... It's about Commander Riker."

 

[Enterprise1981]

PICARD: What about him?

 

[Alienesse]

Troi: "I think you should know he and I have had a prior relationship."

 

[LeadHead]

Picard: I see. Do you think this will interfere with your duties?

 

[Enterprise1981]

TROI: Not at all. It happened several years ago and it's well behind both of us now. I just thought you should know.

 

[ClayinCA]

PICARD: I appreciate your telling me, but I'm quite sure that the two of you will find some way to...deal with the situation.

 

[Enterprise1981]

TROI: Thank you, sir.

(Troi leaves)

 

[LeadHead]

Picard: Tea, Earl Grey, Hot.

COMPUTER: That beverage has not been programmed into the replication system. (and will not be until Season 2)

Tomalak: (on viewscreen) So Captain, how long shall we stare at each other across the Neutral Zone?

 

[Ziz]

Picard: There is an alternative, Tomalok. We each know why we're here. We could each send one ship into the Neutral Zone to investigate the anomaly in the Devron System.

 

[LeadHead]

Tomalak: (on viewscreen) Has Starfleet Command approved this arrangement?

PICARD: No.
