All Female Crew ideas? I need opinions. Half are obvious. Several are tough like who's the Pilot?

I didn't watch DS9 so I'm iffy about Dax's best spot. As security chief, I wish I could "upgrade" from Yar.

It's tough because Seven is great at everything except diplomacy, so it's tough getting the most of her and not wasting her skills.

Here's what I've got so far...

Captain: Janeway (Duhhh)

XO: Seven (or Dax? Can anyone convince me?) (It would free up Seven for Astrometrics, Science, Engineering. Plus, Seven's only weakness is that she is probably not diplomatic enough to be Star Fleet captain. But, in a pinch like having to take command, she would be 10 times better than T'Pol for sure.

Tactical on the bridge: Seven (duh)

OPS: T'Pol (or Dax?)

Security: Yar

Pilot: Sito Jaxa (the super young Bajoran from TNG "The First Duty" and "Lower Decks")?? Help me out!!

Doctor: Polaski with Seven to help in a pinch (Sorry but I absolutely couldn't stand Crusher)

Engineer: Torres

Science: T'Pol, Seven, Roe (from TNG)

Communications: Hoshi Sato
 
moderator please delete this. I can''t for the life of me figure out how to edit these. How do you edit these things anyway? I have a revision that is much much better
 
Jadzia Dax should be the pilot. She spent a fair bit of time in that position aboard the Defiant.
 
Thnx!!! You sound sure of yourself, too. I couldn't figure out how to edit so I plan to revise and refine this post.

Seven has poor diplomatic skills, but if sh*t hits the fan, I want her to take over instead of T'Pol.

Thoughts?
 
I wasn't sure if Torres was the only decent pilot and therefore I would put Seven in engineering. That would be such a waste right?
 
You can't edit because you don't have the number of posts needed yet (Though length of membership is fine). I'd have to check to see how many posts it is though:(

For the pilot, well, I kind of wished they'd kept Stadi from the Voyager pilot around.
 
Just a idea but what if you had Odo in the shape of a woman? Could be seen as a transgender character which I think might fit into the spirit of what you might be trying to do. She could be security of course.

Also Ezri as ships counselor and also because it means Jadzia and Ezri could interact with each other. Also Guinan as the ship's 10 forward hostess. Also you might want someone who would sort of give this crew its missions so how about Admiral Nachevev.

I forgot about Kira. She should certainly be their and also be first officer more than Seven. Seven is a better fit in Astrometrics like she was on "Voyager." Also more use of the Delaney Sisters and Celes under her command down their.

You can't edit because you have to wait 14 days before it lets you, unfortunately. I can't edit any of my posts either.

Can I pitch Ro for first officer? I mean she may have defected but if Janeway is captain she's already shown a willingness to accept Maquis members (even Maquis first officers).

Science would be the toughest position to fill, Seven, Jadzia Dax and T'Pol are all great science officers.

Kira is probably the obvious choice for first officer, but I would put her as chief of security since I'm giving first officer to Ro. She would be great in that position, as good or better than Yar.

Again, I haven't watched more than 15 mins of DS9, so again, what are your thoughts regarding Jadzia? She was the Dax I was referring to. Is there a case for her as xo instead of Seven? I suppose Seven could be at OPS (she's kind of a female Data anyway) Plus, T'Pol could be shipped off the bridge into Science or Astrometrics, right. She's too neurotic to be a command officer anyway.

Wow. What a huge help that was. So, the million dollar question is who should be Pilot?

Opps I replied to your first post before reading your idea about Kira as xo. As usual, I don't know enough about Kira to contrast her to Seven. I love the idea of Seven in Astrometrics, but let's face it, she fits everywhere lol.

Teach me more about Kira. If Janeway, took one between the eyes in a real bloodbath, I'd feel very secure (as a crewmember) with Seven's nanosecond decision making. I really do understand her shortcomings though

Except Odo isn't female. Odo may identify as male when in solid form but he's not really male either. The state he's most comfortable in is a genderless goop.

Yar did seem very qualified and capable as security, but I think that she was a little over-sexualized. What I might really mean is that she was very, very likeable. But she was a little too soft spoken for me. It was still the 80s when she was on the show, so perhaps there was an older fashioned "emotionally weaker woman" thing?

I have nothing against Yar, she was a good security chief, I just think Kira would be better. Odo gets the most security screen time since he's security chief on DS9 but Kira has shown her investigative and combat chops on numerous occasions.

We'll take what we can get. The all ladies crew is still at a considerable disadvantage versus an all male crew.

I consider Data genderless unless someone wants a very philosophical discussion. He, Picard and Riker are juggernauts. What a three headed monster. Then, the Doctor puts them over the top versus the ladies.

Those are my thoughts so far, but you guys are giving me hope as this crew takes shape
