All electric plane breaks speed records

Well, speed records for electric planes, but still...

Rolls-Royce claims to have developed the world's fastest all-electric aircraft

Just for fun, and because it reminded me of it, I compared it's stats to the WW II Spitfire (both planes have Rolls-Royce engines):
Spirit:
Top speed: 555 km/h
Climbing speed: 14 m/s
Range: 160 km (appx. range with passenger)
Spitfire:
Top speed: 600 km/h
Climbing speed: 13 m/s
Range: 399 km (combat range)

Apart from range, not too shabby.

might almost do alright at Reno Unlimited races with a few more concessions made to speed. But the same Hawker SeaFury has won the last few years. Ridiculously fast.

I'll take the Spit... Far more fun!
The Spitfire has always been one of my favourites, but it you look closely both plane's have a remarkably similar design. Especially how the cockpit is roughly mid-point along the fuselage. The Spirit is sleeker, but change the colour scheme...
