Did someone say birds? Well, how about this Mallard. We've had a couple (literally a couple, perhaps boyfriend and girlfriend) of Mallards making their home in our neighbourhood recently, and one day they chose our lawn to rest on and were there for several hours! So, who am I to resist a good photo opportunity when I see one? And this lady happened to pose for me when she saw me. I was maybe about 15 ft away when I took this.

Ok, so seeing as we're allowed two, I can't simply just post one of the mallards. I'm posting her guy too. Although he didn't pose like she did.
Wish I could get more detail in, but hard to do so due to the size. In the full size image, you can actually see his eyes.

Yesterday there was a female waddling around our parking lot at work. Today, it was a male, in a large puddle looking for edibles (it's been raining a LOT around here).
These are pretty much the only ducks I've ever seen around my area outside of a pair of Moskovy hybrids (I think) a couple years ago, but they might have escaped a small nearby farm. I may enter one of the pics of these when I get home.
