Aliens other than TOS aliens

USS Excelsior

Commodore

How do you think it would be received if we were to see TNG era aliens and perhaps aliens that were introduced in ENT in this movie....

Of course there would be an outcry if we saw any Ferengi, or even Cardassians or Bajorans would be pushing it.

They should have B5 aliens make cameo appearances in this film, perhaps even a cylon or two. Alf should come back, in pog form.

There's no reason any alien we don't have a definite or approximate first contact date for couldn't be in it. The Bajorans have been known long enough for Ro and Sito to be in Starfleet without comment. And more often than not Starfleet is made up of the 'old guard' worlds.
Cardassians - not a timeline no-no, but no reason I could see for them being there. An alien bar, maybe, have a Cardie in the background - wearing 'The Wounded' armour if JJ really wants the fans to like his canon credentials.
Ferengi - no, no, no, no, no.

no.

ENT aliens - probably steer clear of them for 'ENT sucked and was a miserable failure' reasons.

One we definitely could see would be the Trill.

Wouldn't really mind seein Pholx's species, cant even remember their name :O but other than that it HAS to be the same. Vulcans, Klingons, Orions, Andorians, Tellerites etc. etc.

I think JJ should bring back the TOS aliens in their original form, without the ENT changes.
- Tellarites that look more porcine and have claws instead of hands (and that freaky accent).
- Andorians without bumpy foreheads and the Antennae attached to the back of the head (and that freaky accent).

...and the golden dwarf dudes just have to be in the movie.

If you want to be nerdish about it, various dialogue hints that Betazed is near Andoria and Tellar, which is in turn near Earth and Vulcan. So you could have Majel Barret show up as Lwaxana's great gradma.

I think they should stick primarily to the ENT and TOS species. There is plenty there for them to work with.

And I CERTAINLY don't want to see any Borg.

Yes it should be free of Ferengi, Borg, or any Q that's for sure.

If they have to have Xindi then maybe one or two of their species at most.

Denobulans would be pretty cool. How about an aged Phlox himself? ;)

seriously though, would it violate canon to have other alien Enterprise crewmembers (of any species) besides Spock?

I don't think any Bajorans should be shown, though, since they don't have warp drive. So unless the Enterprise actually visits Bajoran space, I don't see how they could pull this off.

I think only ENT and TOS era aliens should appear. Denobulans, Tellarites, Andorians, Betelgeusians, Aamazarites, Andorians, those little golden fez-wearing dudes, etc. No Klingons or Romulans. Well, maybe a few smooth-headed 'virus' Klingons.

If the Suliban appeared, the fans would probably tear the theatre apart!

You're going to be disappointed if you're hoping for no Romulans.

And unlike many of you I love the Ferengi but they don't belong in this film.

How about Edosians and Caitians?

And yes, Denobulans, Andorians and Tellarites. Perhaps also Deltans, Efrosians and Rhaandarites.

I am not Spock said:

Are those officially Little Copper Dudes[tm]? I always figured those were TOS-era Ferengi... we just "never knew their names". ;)

Suliban would actually make sense. And so would Coridan natives, Xyrillians, Axanar, and any flavor of Xindi.

There are so many alien races (if you throw in TMP and ENT) to pick from...

But I'd agree Denobulans, Betazoids, Deltans would make a lot of sense. And Betazoids and Deltan males would make sense as TOS-era crew on the Enterprise... we wouldn't know they were unless someone made a point of it.

TOS Andorians would be pretty crappy after the "Enterprise" version as exemplified by Shran. It'd just look like Abrams ran short of money.

The Andorians of ENT are quite possibly the only "improvement" that was actually an... improvement, especially after the mercifully little seen TMP and TNG iterations. Klingon foreheads were more trouble than they were worth and the less said about Romulan foreheads the better.
