Quick random question: why does the VOY episode use Grey rather than Gray?

I hate the word "grey". It looks like it should be pronounced "gree".

When I was growing up it was "gray", when did it change?

For the same reason it's nice to be married or have families, it's nice that the USA has Canada as a neighbor - so we can blame them for everything!
