Aliens as the Protagonist

In the future, Star Trek creators should try a series using an alien race as the main protagonist and use humans and the Federation as supporting roles... Cardassains as the main characters or Ferengis or Klingons or some other alien race ...

It would change up Star Trek universe... Aliens have stories to tell too...

Definitely, and it would allow them to tell certain stories without changing the nature and tone of the Federation and/or Starfleet characters.
It would also be the best way to truly expand the universe into new directions with standalone miniseries or an anthology series.

Honestly, with Discovery I would use the spore drive to go to another galaxy and see what the Kelvans are up to.

why would they regard the federation as a threat? once the ferengi throw out all of rom's "reforms" it will be business as usual.
