Every time I see that I can't help but think that it's some Jaffa word from Stargate.
I wouldn't mind one bit meeting another Drelb. I liked Steiner, in Barbara Hambly's Ishmael, and I don't care whether it's in canon (I'm sure LD in particular could get some mileage out of a Drelb) or in another novel. For that matter, Hambly mentioned a few species that sounded interesting. How about the Hokas?

The estates of Poul Anderson and Gordon R. Dickson might take a dim view, since the mention of their creation, the Hokas, is likely as unauthorized as the use of Here Come the Brides.
Of course, Hokas barely got mentioned as a bit of throwaway. Steiner, the Drelb, on the other pseudopod/tentacle-morphed-into-a-dainty-hyperfeminine-hand, was rather well developed as a character.
But knowing that Hokas came from Anderson and Dickson tells me where to go, to find out more about the species. I'm sure Alibris has copies of the relevant books. I'm pretty sure I haven't read any Anderson or Dickson at all.
