It was overnight when I made that post. It was the first thing that came to mind. I'll make the correction.
Some more observations, and then that's going to be it until after the next season comes out.
Here they are:
Boy Kavalier reminds me of L from Death Note.
There's something strange about Morrow. I'm not sure if I'm supposed to be rooting for or against him. I don't even know if the show is sure.
More characters survived this season than I expected. This being the Alien franchise, I'm used to seeing only one to three characters survive by the end. One of the concessions they've made for being a television series.
I hope to see more of Yutani next season.
I'm glad they didn't kill off Kirsh.
Nibs is my favorite character.
I like Hermit more than I thought I would.

I remember feeling intimidated by his aggressive hairstyle.
Hope they grabbed enough shots from 1st season filming...obviously unused is better.... but I grew up with Flash Gordon Filmation cartoons, so I can appreciate repeat action shots

Alien: Earth star Sydney Chandler told Deadline during a Texas Film Awards presser today that season 2 of the Noah Hawley created FX series is commencing in May.

As much as I appreciate that the show did a lot to expand the Alien universe and the kind of storytelling it can encompass, not just the usual "small group of people gets killed" stuff, and considering I still read the current Titan line of Alien novels, this show just hasn't been on my mind at all since the last episode. I'll watch another season, but I'm honestly more keen to get another series of Riot Women or The Crow Girl. Not that they're anything like Alien Earth, but they've left me wanting a follow-up more than AE has.

It wasn't that bad. If you've seen any of the other Alien movies, it's on par from a gore perspective. Yes, there's a little involving animals, but you can probably cover your eyes during those parts...!
It's CGI as well--no real animals being treated poorly as far as I could tell.
