This is the ALIEN film I've been wanting to see since 1979! If done well, this could be HUGE!!!
It'll be interesting to see if Ridley Scott can capture lightning in a bottle twice. Personally, I think he needs Dan O'Bannon back aboard for the writing chores...but, we'll see!

The Ripley we got in the last film wasn't Ripley. Who knows how long she would have survived?
Personally, I'd like a decent Alien movie, more like the original, then a decent Predator movie with a fresh idea, then a really good AvP movie - it is possible. The 2 AvP movies I gather are half arsed at best (saw 1st, haven't seen 2nd). Stick them back in the future, for one thing, not present day Earth.

However, the director is not Ridley Scott. The film will be helmed by Carl Rinsch and will serve as a prequel to Alien. It's being produced by Scott-Free Productions.

How about we keep the Alien vs Predator theme and expand it a bit. Batman vs Alien vs Predator vs Terminator vs Robocop vs Witchblade.
Set in the SCC universe so you can have Bale as Batman.
After John Connor gets back from the future with Cameron's chip, their fight against Skynet takes them to Old Detroit, which OCP wishes to tear down in order to create Delta City. The Connors strike out against OCP's cybernetics division, which has ties to Skynet, and are confronted by Robocop. Meanwhile, in the far future, Ripley 8 battles an Alien Queen in the ruins of a Skynet factory, which remained untouched after the war because Skynet intentionally destroyed all references to it in his databanks. The factory, unbenownst to Ripley, is operational, and churning out terminator cyborgs. Aliens and terminators clash with Ripley in the middle. The fight eventually leads them to a time displacement device, and both Ripley and the Queen find themselves naked in 2009 Detroit.
The League of Assasins captures the Alien Queen, and it is revealed that they ressurrected their leader Ras Al Ghul using a Lazarus pit. They intend to use her eggs to create an army that will wipe out a large chunk of humanity, returning things to a simpler and less corrupt age. But Batman is hot on their trail and he calls in Sarah Pizinni for help. While all this is happening, a Predator travel agent notices all of these powerful and skilled warriors converging on the same location and sends a signal to his brethern to begin a most glorious hunt.

ALIEN 5 rumors
so a very similar film to Alien (1979). Not a remake but a reimagining sorta it sounds like.
Also sounds like no future Marines Platoon (based on Vietnam-style) as an element.

In the original film
Perhaps we will see the Nostromo recreated just like the Discovery from 2001 was recreated in 2010. Perhaps we will see "Weylan-Yutani" first mentioned near the end of this new film during hiring the Nostromo to tow the ore and refinery at Thedus and introduce that element of the series.
Realistically I can envision them using Sigourney's Voice as Ripley over a radio or speaker from a recording, or on a communications system of some sort.
Perhaps we will also see the android Bishops designer as an old man who is using creating the android that will be used on the Nostromo as part of the crew? It could be the actor Lance Henriksen who plays Bishop in Aliens who used a younger version of himself for a future model of the android?

according to Wikipedia so perhaps they may use a location of a mine that leads to the pickup of that ore by the Nostromo. Even though the alien race is first discovered in the Alien canon on the planetoid as "LV-426" maybe we'll see another planet or planetoid that the Aliens had landed on previously.

If we must have a prequel, I'd prefer to see the story of the ship which crashed on LV-426. Won't happen, but that's what I want to know about. I already know that a bunch of backstabbing jerks run Weyland-Yutani. That doesn't need to be expanded upon.
