ALIEN 5 must have Ripley! ie, Sigourney Weaver

I wouldn't mind Summer Glau as the female lead. She reminds me a lot of Weaver.

[screams]OH GOD NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!![/screams]

ENOUGH OF THAT BLOODY SKINNY LITTLE POUTING EMO BITCH!!!!!!!!

Why the hell does every new show have to have HER in it?!?! She plays the same bloody character every damned time.

Sick to death of her.

Well, it's kind of like this. We've seen what happens when they try to do an Alien movie without Sigourney Weaver. They tried it twice, and they were both miserable failures. Without Ripley, there is simply no point to trying.

One won't be made anytime soon so problem solved.

It's like Ghostbusters 3, loads of talk and it leads no where.

next installment of ALIEN franchise

I have been hearing delicious talk of Ridley Scott doing another ALIEN film

After locating the original mention
another Alien movie, be it sequel, prequel or reboot, would only happen with Scott’s involvement.

If Ridley Scott were to become attached as director surely he would collaborate with H.R. Giger again.
If it Scott I highly doubt he would re-make his own film ala Robert Rodriguez' El mariachi (1992) with Desperado (1995) so most likely a pre-quel even with an older Sigourney acting.

Question: With Sarah Connor Chronicles canceled, please tell me there is a possibility of Summer Glau making an appearance on Dollhouse! --Jenn
Ausiello:
The noise you're about to hear is the sound of the Whedonverse exploding. Joss confirms to me exclusively that, well, he's one step ahead of you. "If anybody thinks [bringing Summer onto Dollhouse] hasn't occurred to me already then they have not met me," he says. "I mentioned it to her before [SCC] was canceled. I was like, 'You know, we should get you in the 'house.' But first we have to come up with something that works." And casting her as a doll would not work, insists Whedon. "Summer would be perfect to play an active, but she's done that [type of role] a lot," he says. "I'd rather see her play someone who talks too much. The most fun I have is when I get somebody who's good and comfortable at doing something, and then I make them do something else. Summer said to me, 'I would like to play a normal girl before I die of extreme old age.'" Got any ideas? Head to the comments section!

Alien Resurrection?

Bad writing is bad writing, Ripley or no Ripley. The franchise is ALIEN, not RIPLEY.

You need a good story and well written, well acted characters, whoever they are.

If your story sucks, it won't matter who the characters are and who stars.

I still don't understand how Jean-Pierre Jeunet managed to make such a shitty movie.

Every other Jeunet movie I've seen has been great. I'm really looking forward to Micmacs a tire-larigot.

But Alien Resurrection? P.U.

I think they should make a movie called ALIENS VS. ALIENS and have it be about the Xenomorphs fighting the Space Jockey aliens and humans get caught in between!

That would rule.

I'm pretty much done with the Alien franchise. I was pretty much done after Alien3. I see no reason to make a re-boot, sequel, prequel or anything else involving them.

Surprisingly Hollywood has shown it can do a reboot without totally fucking it up. Whether Fox can do it is another story. At times they seem determined to bury the franchise (AVP2 is bright neon writing on the wall as proof of this). But I think something fresh and reimagined ala Star Trek could work.

By that I don't mean time travel but new people who aren't going to try too hard to recreate the previous movies in scene after scene (AVP2 is another example of this failure; the idea was good but it went way too far in nostalgia) but at the same time they don't have to completely erase the characters or the main theme of the movies either.

You don't need Ripley just a good story and a excellent director like Cameron or Scott but they will probably end up getting that Mcg guy:rolleyes:

You know what I was thinking about? Why not do the Alien: Earth Hive storyline from the comics or the Aliens series of comics about Wilkes and Billie (yes I know that they are supposed to be Hicks and Newt, but it could work).

If I could please ask for some un-snarky comments to this--

Given the timeline established by the four Ripley/Alien movies, how *would* a fifth Alien movie fit in--what can you think of as a good story?

I think maybe (though I do not think the new Star Trek did this at all), some kind of AU plot might work, sandwich bw Aliens and Alien 3. Perhaps a long-slumbering, aged Ripley, Hicks, and Newt could be discovered, in other words, bypassing Fury and that plot altogether (I love Alien 3, btw.) It might be an interesting different look that didnt violate the main narrative.

What Alien 5 would have:

-A tough leading female hero, just because.
-A new mega alien that we've never seen before
-Changes to the alien reproductive cycle that seem to make no sense.
-At least one really cool, likeable character who will be killed off early.
-Lots of references to earlier films.
-Untrustworthy military/scientists/government types*

*Obligatory for 90% of sci-fi movies.

My idea for a sequel. Aliens overrun future Earth, and things look bleak. But then aliens stop taking people, they stop reproducing once they hit a certain number. And then the mystery is why?

I was always curious about where the aliens actually came from and the ship they found with the other "alien" on it. Something to do with that could be very interesting, or I would find it interesting at least.

I have been hearing delicious talk of Ridley Scott doing another ALIEN film, albeit a prequel to the first. While exciting, I for one want another Ripley-Aliens film. I love the character and would love to see a real attempt at reimaging the series with her in it.

Thoughts?

I love the character too, but they unfortunately wrote her into a hole.

A question--I have always been confused about the Space Jockey, well, his body. Is he facing outward or lying on his back?
