Alice Eve joins Star Trek 2 cast

I don't know. Every time I look up Alice Eve, I get flashbacks of Rosie Huntington-Whiteley's role in Transformers 3. Please tell me that there's more to Alice than her good looks, because I don't want to to spend a year and a half worring about her first scene in the new Star Trek movie being a closeup shot of her bum walking down a corridor.

Why don'r you look up the comedy "She's out of my league" with Jay Baruchel... She actually holds her own quite well.

Worrying? How about fantasizing? ;)

There's sexy that's cool (Hoshi, Torres), and there's sexy that's blatently annoying (Seven, T'Pol).

One thing that stood out to me from the four you named are how different, and how much more seriously I took the characters of Seven and T'Pol when they were in regular uniforms. Seven when she was doing the spy work and she was in a standard Starfleet uniform, and T'Pol in the TOS era miniskirt in In A Mirror, Darkly. Yes, even the miniskirt looked more professional than the catsuit.

Yes, this Alice Eve is a lovely looking lass, but I seriously hope it's not just an eye-candy role.

Nope, she has an abnormally large forehead and a large upper set of choppers (teeth) so she has a weird way of doing her lips cause she cant close her mouth all the way.
Other than that she's smoking.

Does this mean that you have a perfectly symetrical face with a proportionate forehead and straight teeth with a "hollywood smile"? I suppose you don't have any bad habits either - if only the rest of us were as perfect as you so we could criticise the looks of actresses!

I did say she was smokin hot. Other than the few things I listed. Maybe she could play a new alien crewmember that has an abnormally large brain thus her large forehead would work perfectly. No need for a prosthetic. :techman:

Well, you could try looking up her filmography.

so, we have 3 additions to the cast. eve, del toro's role (who might be a villain) and an older villain who still has to be cast and the plot takes place (at least partially) on a jungle planet.
I guess we will learn a few things more around mid december, but that's quite a lot right now for a very secretive production in this early stage.

I'm thinking both Eve and Del Toro play augmented Klingons, both have the long foreheads. Kirk is probably banging her not knowing she's an augment, but is she the lab technician, who knows?

Am I the only one that doesn't find her very attractive?

Er, really?

"Abnormally large" or "long" as compared to whom? Most folks do have a couple of inches' separation between eyebrows and hairline.

In fact, anyone who's ever taken an art class or a drawing class learns to realize that human foreheads are actually much larger than we tend to think of them as being. Our brains just tend to ignore it and not acknowledge its size because there's not much interesting there above the eyes -- but if you draw a human face with an abnormally small forehead, something just looks wrong about it.

I kept thinking of Alice Evans. Hadn't heard of Ms Eve and was surprised to see that she's the daughter of Trevor Eve, of Waking the Dead and Shoestring fame.

I didn't say their foreheads were abnormally large. I said long as in "they have long foreheads." In other words, they have a longer forehead as opposed to someone standing beside them who doesn't have quite as much forehead. I assume, since this is a common occurrence, it wouldn't be "abnormal," which is a term I did not use.

By the way, this could be beneficial to being cast as an Klingon Augment, since Klingons normally have prominent foreheads, and a Klingon Augment does not.
