Alcatraz (FOX) "Pilot" & "Ernest Cobb" *Spoilers!*

What did You Think Of The 2 Hour Premiere?

Nothing happened this week that seemed to have a date stamp on it.

The 'romance between the mortician and Hugo inched forward.

in an ice age or two, I think he's going to get some.

I think it's weird when writers make it seem like big people or ugly people are all virgins. In the real world all the big ugly people sleep with all the other big ugly people there's plenty of big ugly sex to go around, before you even have to start thinking about prostitutes.

"Golden Age Sandman"

I'm going to say how incredibly rare, but I flirted with a girl in a diner for a few weeks once upon a time who was into Wesley, drew her a little sand man post card, but that was a different time and place and those books are old and out of print and well... Not that good.

Finally got caught up, and while I'm still watching I agree we need to get on with more arc.... hopefully the 2-parter will do so. The cute blond wouldn't be enough if I didn't like Sam and Jorge so much.

Alcatraz was one of those shows that hooked me with the pilot episode, not many really "hook" me as they tend to be a bit slow because they have to set up the show's premise and such, they usually give me enough interest to watch the next episode because I liked what I saw and I see the future potential.

Alcatraz on the other hand is going in reverse, it started out really strong (IMO) but with every episode it's just getting more and more boring, granted this week's episode was a tad bit different but all the previous episodes just felt like a re-write of each other, instead of a sniper make him a chemist, instead of a chemist make him a mad bomber and so on, it just feels like catch the con of the week.

By now (episode 8) I would be hoping for more of the mystery of the 63's to be popping up but not so much, I told myself the week's episode had to be the one that reeled me back in because each week I'm wiggling more and more off the hook, looks like I'll be the one that got away....Oh well.

EP09 "The Ames Brothers" & EP10 "Sonny Burnett"
In back-to-back all-new episodes, two of Alcatraz’s most violent brothers, Herman (guest star Travis Aaron Wade) and Pinky (guest star Graham Shiels) Ames, who were notorious for nearly escaping in 1963, find something mysteriously amiss when they return to Alcatraz in the present day.

In the second installment, Sonny Burnett (guest star Theo Rossi), a man with an incredible dark side who became ultra-violent during his stint at Alcatraz, returns in an all-new special two-hour “The Ames Bros./Sonny Burnett” episode of ALCATRAZ airing Monday, March 5 (8:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. (ALC-109/10) (TV-14 L, V)

This show, for many reasons, tends to aggravate my irritable bowel syndrome.
I'll have to abandon it to save my intestines.

I will still check it out for the outstanding blond female lead actress... I think she'll win a few golden globe awards!

I just woke up from a dream about the Cape.

i'm amazed my subconscious could be bothered.

Months from now, I may be equally amazed if Alcatraz pushes everything to one side for a solo.

Although I haven't posted lately, I have seen everything up to this point, except for last week's pre-emption.

Being that it has an earlier start this evening, I think I'll be around for a bit, despite being down with the flu. I still have hope for this series, even though it is dragging a bit. I like the concept and Jorge's character, but the show needs to start doling out a bit more plot and answers.

So we got two episodes tonight, and not much to go on in regards to the mythology still. Yeah we get hints and stuff (And there was a nice little thing about the Blood) but that isn't much to go on. I was trying to figure out why we jumped over last week's episode, and I have to say I don't think we need Last week's episode to follow these two. Houser's lover (I forgot her name) is still in a coma, Tommy is still on the loose (How many times have they covered this with no real advancement in plot?), and we still don't know anything about the 63s.

Based on the first episode though, I think the only way I will be happy is if the Warden is the mastermind of the whole thing. I really do like him in this series, and I do think everything is leading up to that possibility. I would love to see him reappear in present day, which I think is going to happen in the season finale.

Also, I just found out that Terra Nova got cancelled. That improves Alcatraz's chances somewhat, but I am struggling with this series right now. I'll watch the remainder of the season (How many episodes are left?) and hopefully we get "something".

tonight's episodes were ok. but that's the problem...aside from the pilot every episode since has been 'ok'.

So what have we have learned, Hauser just found out the blood in some prisoners does make them healther. It looks like the blood making them immortal is not why ther are back in 2012. Lucy and the Doc must have been one of the first ones to re-appear in 2012.

So there was just bars of gold sitting below alcatraz? I understand i may have been put there during the civil war but why was it never removed when the prison was first built? it just stayed in that room? tough to swallow.

Also the actors that play some of these people are not aged apporiatly. So Hauser was about 20 in 1963 now its 50 years later he should be 70 but does not look like it (Sam Neil is 64) . Also the woman that got kidnapped in 1959 when she was 14 should be about 64/65 or so, she looks like shes in her upper 40's at best.

Isn't Sonny Burnett one of Sonny Crockett's aliases?

Yes, it was.

Wendy Crewson turns 56 this year. They do this a lot in tv. They'll cast someone ten years younger than the character they're supposed to be playing. I guess they'd rather go for an actor they like then get the age exactly right and hire an actor they don't like.

Saw the first of two, and have to say it was actually decent. Even though the story overall is unfolding too slowly, and curves aside, the lead actress isn't as compelling as say, Torv, who also looks good in bikini briefs.

New tonight!

I am guessing this is the one that was supposed to air a few weeks ago and is airing tonight? Wikia has it listed as EP10 but YT Promo says EP08? Ugh FOX. :rommie:
