Alan Arkin.........

R.I.P. Alan Arkin.
Extremely versatile actor who made me laugh and cry at various times over the years.
My favorite role of his was Mr. Singer in 1968's The Heart is a Lonely Hunter (the whole cast is great in that one).

Loved him in So I Married an Axe Murderer.

I remember reading an article years ago where the author says that some of the traits we come to associate with Peter Sellers version of Inspector Clousea actually found their origin in Alan Arkin's portrayal of the character.
Whether that's true or not, it's nice to think Alan had a small hand in shaping the character.
