Spoilers Ah, the NEW uniforms...!

No one's wearing sidearms. Either they feel really safe where they are, or their defenses are immaculately subtle.

Or they are from Bel and Loki's planet.

Too bad the Hovitos don't know you the way I do, Bel, Lok. ;)

I'm going to guess the white uniforms are starfleet medical and georgiou is getting a psych eval. The guy played by David Cronenberg does look some what s31 but he could just be a high ranking federation official overseeing the crews reintegration to starfleet.

Hmm. Could be. I love the speculation!

Given the way that the Discovery design and wardrobe team have gone so far, my guess is that the white will indeed turn out to be medical.

That doesn’t entirely explain the officer in the formal uniform with the white front stripe who’s standing next to the admiral. This could, of course, be another medic but that would be unusual. We’ll just have to see what her role actually is.

Given that, so far, we have seen white, blue, golden yellow and red, it could well be that the basic colours will broadly follow the TNG-onwards pattern of red for command, blue for sciences and gold for operations, with the Discovery-like addition of white for medical.

On the other hand, based purely on what we have seen so far, it’s plausible that it’s white for command, blue for sciences and medical, gold for operations, and red is reserved for flag officers.

My best guess is that it’s probably the first of those with white being the medical colour — which means that the scene with Georgiou likely is indeed some sort of psych evaluation. (Which could be mildly amusing!)

@kirk55555: And illustrate it for us, please.

you don't have to be an artist to think that something looks like shit. It's like how I can hate some music without being musician. You don't have to be able to make art to critique it, same goes with designing things. Someone who works hide TV show should definitely be better at that than a random person like me who has no artistic ability.

to be fair, it's possible the individual to be fair, it's possible the individual designers are more talented and it's just the shity producers that make the stuff come out badly, in fact that is probably the case most of the time. Either way, everything the show does except for some of the Federation ships look like absolute shit, and those uniforms are no different. They make the motion picture uniforms look like The Wrath of Khan uniforms in comparison.

Do you like anything?

Let the discussion begin...!!

:D

I'm looking forward to learning who Oded Fehr (aka Ardeth Bay in the Mummy Movies) is playing.

Hey! Her feet aren't touching the floor! She's trying to make herself taller than Georgiou! She'll regret that.
Hot damn, I just realized none of the chairs (or the table, for that matter) have any legs. I'd make myself hover even higher if I were her, just so that I could look down on Georgiou :D

None of that answers the original question of how you would have designed things.

DSC has the best and highest production values of any Star Trek series ever made. If there's any fault to it, it's that it doesn't look anything like the show that it's supposed to be a prequel to.
