Agents of SHIELD First Time Viewing

So, I have seen Age of Ultron but not since it came out and I don't really have a way to watch it now.

Is there a good place to get a recap? How did Agent 33 get caught then deprogrammed? Any other characters involved in a way that affects the plot, sounds like Raina was somehow involved.

I noticed Disney+ has the show now up to Season 5. Previously they only offered the first three seasons.
So whatever was the holdup seems to have resolved and am looking forward to finally watch the remaining episodes I haven’t seen yet.
I understand it has a sixth season, but that is probably to fresh as a non-Disney+ original to show up already.

This might work.

I guess I'm more looking for specifically the parts relevant to SHIELD, I remember the story in general but I didn't watch it with the knowledge of SHIELD cues to look for.

The show again goes in directions I didn't expect. The mother who looked like the good guy in the Inhuman side stages a false flag attack out of her pure mistrust of anything trying to control her.

Mack just kind of walks away, wondering if they'll actually give him a pleasant character retirement or he'll be drawn back in at some point. It certainly feels at this point like only a few people have magic plot bubble protection and everyone else is doomed. Kind of like 24 only with a slightly bigger bubble.

Who is in the bubble of protection? Is it only Coulson, Skye, Fitz, Simmons and May or is Ward in there too?

With Age of Ultron there's no real significant connections, it's just one thing that shows up as a surprise in the movie was set up before hand in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. It's a relatively minor part of the movie, and there are no references to or appearances by anything specific to AOS. I've watched AOS regularly since it started, and I didn't even recognize the connection at first.
There are never any direct references or appearances by any elements unique to any of the TV shows in any of the movies. Pretty much all of the connections are one sided on the part of the shows.

So, Skye's mom's immortality is cause she's basically a Wraith. Neat. I really like her as a villain. No cackling evilness. Pure manipulation, playing the part of the concerned leader forced into action to protect her people. Just as evil as Cal, only hides it perfectly.

It just feels like so much happened in between episodes. Coulson regains the trust of Gonzalez, 33 is captured and has her mind control removed, references from Raina.

The closest thing that could be said to be a reference to the show in Age of Ultron is when Nick Fury said that the helicarrier had been restored with the help of some "old friends", a vague reference to Coulson and the "theta protocol".

Netflix only has it through season 6, will I be able to catch season 7 on the network website when I get there?

I like the new villain, someone who seems to be operating legally but all evil like, and as competent as Coulson. Hopefully it leads to continuing the debate of pragmatically ending any threats versus idealistically protecting people’s rights who could be dangerous.

I think I missed which party is responsible for the fish oil and intentionally activating everyone.

By the time you get to Season 7, it might be on netflix, as the series will end in a few weeks. I thought I heard something about the series going to Disney+, but I'm not sure about that in the states.

In a lot of cases with shows I watch I’ve seen it take nearly a year to get on streaming.

Well the episode prior is a direct lead in to the mission the Avengers are on at the opening of the movie (they just don't know Coulson is the source of Hill's intel on List, von Strucker and Loki's sceptre), Raina sees a vision of the AoU trailer and the episode after shows 'Theta Protocol' was "Coulson and Koenig refit the old helicarrier, which Fury uses to ride to the rescue in the third act".

After Daisy knocked the helicopter with the terrigen crystals onboard into the sea, the crystals dissolved into the water and contaminated the fish. From there, the fish were caught by fisherman and processed into fish oil pills. It's in the last scene of season 2.

Ahh, I remember the helicopter being knocked in but didn’t make the connection.

Is she Daisy for the rest of the show? That’s so much less cool than Skye.

I was commenting in the other thread but unless someone quotes me I am afraid to go back, so I will make the same comment here. While it's not a big deal, I was hoping there would be some kind of explanation for the Skye moniker. She was a hacker, and orphan, and didn't know who her parents were. That was basically it. Why Skye?

It's just the name she chose for herself. While no specific meaning behind it has been given to my knowledge; given that she's a hacker, I'd assume that 'Skye' started out as her handle. Which basically means it's probably just something she thought sounded cool.
Her legal name as provided by the orphanage was "Mary Sue Poots". I think anyone inflicted with that would opt to pick their own moniker.

It does sound cool, and Daisy doesn’t, that’s the point. :)

I’m wondering the point of sending Simmons to the other planet. I’m hoping it leads to something important and it’s not just a forced role reversal so now it’s Fitz who has to be understanding of Simmons problems.
