@tesral well its a big ship. Its dish is much deeper than other classes, why not have a light aircraft carrier model? I am sure the spaceframe is capable of other configurations. But that is why I picked this class from the outset. It might limit it as a deep explorer though, but there are loads of those.

The bays on the sides are little more than racks, i was think four per bay. If repairs are required they are moved to bay 1. I think this would allow up to 24 fighters in the 6 (3 on each side) and the one on the front and the 2 on the back are general purpose.

I hope to block it out in the actual model, there is plenty of ship in the upper and lower sections of the dish.

We're are going back a bit now, but I even went as far to imagine what some of the merchandise might have been for this tv show, back in the 90s, in Japan. I did my best to try and translate it into Japanese, It is supposed to say:

Age of Warp
USS Cassiopeia​

But i also hope it is terribly wrong and means something else entirely, which is usually what is the case when people who have no idea try and translate into a language they don't know, which just so happens to be me.

Any one speak/read Japanese good enough to tell me how bad it is?

You're absolutely right, I am just giving you some of my insights and where I am going.

Internal ship size just got a kick in the nads with the final episode of Star Trek Monster Inc ... eh Discovery. Canon is canon but I am struggling to square that circle. Though expect Doctor Who to rock up and complain that they ripped him off!

There's a lot there, actually. The front bay is the largest, for the shuttles and other small craft. The other bays are much smaller, by comparison. Likely either cargo entry ports or recessed workpod docks, akin to what was shown on the underside of the Connie refit's primary hull in TMP. There are four rows of windows around the edge, plus one dark area in between, implying that that there are five decks across the middle, as opposed to the standard two, not including the decks above and below with two full "upper" Connie saucer halves attached. 24th century efficiency in engineering design succeeded in compacting the Connie's secondary hull into the smaller engineering block in the rear (let's face it, most of it was immensely long shuttlebay and lower cargo decks), that also allowed for double the components for long-term redundancy. I would argue that the Constellation easily has at least, if not more, usable internal volume than either a Connie or Miranda.

As for all those doors, could be anything from little equipment bays to sensor racks or cargo bays, they don't have to be deep.

But it is so unforgiving, every line has to be drawn and redrawn for every view, I always wanted to have a 3d model version to pull views off, from any angle. A little tweak of the toon work results in this:

Need to do a rotation for the model, and then this is going in the background of a bridge display

That Japanese logo design is sick! Very cool!

Personally, I always liked the idea of the Stargazer-like ships to be essentially aircraft carriers in space. Those big-ass doors on that fat saucer rim look perfect for that. I wish we'd have seen more of that class of ships on the shows.

I have the Eagle moss stargazer, it's not bad, the dish doesn't look deep enough, but pretty good for the size. I would love to see a XL version, but I don't think there is the demand, at least a few people here have expressed there opinion that way.

However, there is talk of casting an actor to play a young Picard, probably a flashback scene or two in the next season, this may feature the Stargazer in a more prominent role, its elevation to the panethon of feature vessels may yet happen!

You and me both. The Eaglemoss Stargazer is such a missed opportunity. It's a shame because Eaglemoss was/is able to produce really awesome and accurate models, but here they flubbed it for some reason.

Yes, I'd love the XL version, too! Knowing Eaglemoss, though, they probably just scale up the regular model, warts and all.
