Age of Empires Online

has anyone tried this game. I loved it and purchased the premium civilization pack for the Greeks. I am level 20 and having a good time although I'm rather slow at building.

How is everyone else doing at the game?

Is it real? I mean, exactly like Age of Empires, or is it some kind of Facebook Game? Because if it's real, I might be interested in playing!

it is a 'real' game in the seance that it can only be played online and does have a micro-transaction model. It is free to play so you can at least try it and see what you think.

I think it plays just like Age of Empires with the ability to play with other people, trade items, upgrades, etc.

if for nothing else, give it a try as I think it make some good changes to the play style with upgrades and consumables.

I don't really like the micro-transactions model in general, but since it is free i'm ok with paying for a civilization upgrade.

I've been playing it for a bit, and I quite like it. However. 1860 MS points for ONE premium civilization? 1000 and I might be interested, but as it is that's too expensive. And sadly it's becoming painfully obvious as I progress that sooner rather then later is going to need to buy that premium if I want to continue. At that point I'll just go play Shogun 2 until they lower the prices.

I'm not sure premium is ever really forced on you except for building an arena and a few other buildings that serve no functional purpose.

The game does force you to build so god damn fast that it teaches you how to PvP. I'd like to think I've learnt to build faster but when I see some of my co-op partners build an entire army in 5 minutes I'm shocked.
