After the Odyessy Incidient

We don't get a good view of the bridge in those pictures, just a bunch of closeups. Yes, the railing behind the Captain is different from the Enterprise D but it doesn't have that funky panel like the Yamato did.

PhoenixIreland, et al.: Did anyone else notice the actor who plays the Odyssey's unnamed first officer is Michael Jace, who played Officer Julien Lowe on The Shield? -- RR

I dunno what the Shield is Red Ranger.

and guys, the reason we dont get a good look a t the brige is they probably only built 20% of it, at least they didn't do what they usually do and just do a very bad cheap redress of the Enterprise D battle bridge....

From those photos we can see

-The rails diffrent
-First officer sits much further back
-The entire area behind security is totally diffrent

The area behind security looks like that generic bridge they use on DS9 for Starfleet ships (most identify it with the nebula class).

We might argue that Keogh used his battle bridge to command his vessel in this fight. After all, the main bridges of two other Galaxies were shown to be identical in "Where Silence Has Lease" and "Contagion" - and the only time we saw a different Galaxy command facility, in "Timeless", it was decades in the future, and we might argue it wasn't even a bridge, as the future LaForge might have been speaking from the privacy of his Ready Room.

PhoenixIreland:

The Shield is a cop show in the U.S. starring Michael Chiklis. It's mainly about the misadventures of a group of rogue cops in Los Angeles, but it's also about the regular cops on the beat, and Michael Jace plays one of them who is a closet homosexual. It also chronicles the political career of the precinct captain, an ambitious Latino officer. It's a fabulous show.

I tend to agree that the set we saw of the Odyssey's bridge wasn't quite finished. That's why we only saw glances of it. Since it was on DSN, I have no idea why they didn't use the Battle Bridge, or hell, the original Galaxy-class Main Bridge.

Odds are, it was the battle bridge - elements of this TNG set were apparently used to create the guest starship bridges in DS9, and the Odyssey bridge indeed seems to be this generic guest starship bridge with an added railing and reshuffled chairs. Compare for example with the bridge elements of the Prometheus in "Second Sight", or of the Norkova in "The Passenger".

Odds also are, though, that the producers attempted to pass off the generic bridge as something close to the TNG Galaxy main bridge. Which would suggest that they wanted the real thing but couldn't get it, probably due to conflicting schedules.

After this, we for some reason stop seeing the guest starship bridge set. Instead, the "bridges" of the Lakota or the assorted ships contacting the Defiant during fleet action are shot using elements of the Defiant engineering set as the background. Apparently, the Defiant sets displaced the original guest bridge set...
