After she died in t'pilot how'd you've reintroduced Stadi 2 the cast?

Re: After she died in t'pilot how'd you've reintroduced Stadi 2 the ca

Yes, I was disappointed that she didn't survive, because she was quite pleasing to the optic sensors.

It's Star Trek, so the possibilities are endless to bring her back. First of all, where do they put the corpses? Did they put her in the Voyager morgue that was never seen until the second last episode? (just don't ask what happens when they lose power) Surely they wouldn't waste a torpedo casing to shoot them all into space. Or maybe the replicator system got a boost that week.

"Ashes to Ashes": "An alien contacts Voyager, claiming to be a deceased member of the crew, Ensign Lyndsay Ballard. She explains that an alien race, the Kobali, reanimated her after her coffin was buried in space. The Kobali reproduce by altering the DNA of dead individuals of other races, though such people are (at least initially) prisoners of the Kobali so that they may more easily adjust to their new lives. Ballard escaped from her 'new' family, stole a ship, and spent 6 months searching for Voyager." (Wikipedia.)

A corpse is treated with some dignity, but what about a severed limb?

Corpse meat may not be fed into replicator recycling, but hair and nails from grooming most certainly are as well as I would suppose surgical waste could be as easily fashioned into new boots as tomorrows breakfast.

What about an Emergency Piloting Hologram?

"Tom, you're a reasonable pilot but your medical background is far more vital to the mission."

I'm sure she lives on in an alternate universe somewhen, like Amanda did in TOS.

I was thinking about that episode as I pondered the OP's question, and yet I completely forgot that they wasted one on her (you'd think having seen every episode for the first time within the past couple of months that I'd remember that).

Although I never really believed that she managed to find them and catch up, despite the fact that Voyager seemed to be travelling at a warp speed of leisure cruise.

Re: After she died in t'pilot how'd you've reintroduced Stadi 2 the ca

Voyager couldn't travel in a straight line. It had to aim for trade centres and resources and then they would bump into dinky little empires that barred tourists and have to go around the long way, god forbid that if they tried every wormhole they found that they might go backwards as often as forwards.

Re: After she died in t'pilot how'd you've reintroduced Stadi 2 the ca

Back to the OP: it wasn't the real Lt. Stadi who was aboard Voyager in the first place. It was some kind of changeling...thingie projected by the Caretaker to maneuver Voyager into position. The real Lt. Stadi had been kidnapped by the Caretaker a little earlier. Once he dies, she finds Voyager.

Convoluted enough?

Re: After she died in t'pilot how'd you've reintroduced Stadi 2 the ca

^^You've been watching scifi toooo long. :guffaw:

Re: After she died in t'pilot how'd you've reintroduced Stadi 2 the ca

You guys understand that everyone in the pilot who was mean to Tom Paris had to die? The original doctor and Commander Cavit were cold to him, and Stadi, lovely lady as she was, rejected his clumsy advances.

Once they were mean to Paris, there was no going back. Stadi could never return.

Chakotay only got to live because he and Paris sort of made that bro agreement in the collapsing tunnel.

Re: After she died in t'pilot how'd you've reintroduced Stadi 2 the ca

Easy...twin sister already on board. More Alicia Coppola to drool at!

Re: After she died in t'pilot how'd you've reintroduced Stadi 2 the ca

Yeah she was great...I would be on board with the twin thing. ;)

Re: After she died in t'pilot how'd you've reintroduced Stadi 2 the ca

If Stadi should be re-installed as a crew member, the solution of a Stadi from an alternate universe would be the best.

Re: After she died in t'pilot how'd you've reintroduced Stadi 2 the ca

She's a telepath? lon Suder didn't seem like much of a telepath? but lwaxana has me assuming that Betazoids are stronger teeps than Vulcans... Would Kes have sought Stadi out as a teacher rather than the Vulcan?

How about the Caretaker raped (the Caretaker was a bad, bad entity.) a few corpses, and a child did come out the other side which looked exactly like "it's" mother?

One of my jobs at work has been in digitising old Irish cemetary records. I did actually come across a grave entry for a lady's amputated leg once.

Voyager must have had the record for TV shows that revisited their pilots or shortly before them - until Lost came along of course. It's handy that the original crew were always out the room at the time though!

Re: After she died in t'pilot how'd you've reintroduced Stadi 2 the ca

I like Stadi too, but she had to die or where else would they put Tom Paris on Voyager? In Sickbay with the Doctor and Kess?

Re: After she died in t'pilot how'd you've reintroduced Stadi 2 the ca

Under her.

She'd yell at him a lot.

then they'd make out .

When Tom was reduced in rank to ensign.

He was under someone.

Someone who used to work for him was now his boss in charge of all the pilots and making the duty shifts. Alternatively that person whosoever it was was unceremoniously booted when Tom got his rank bank. This "person" should really have been able to summon enough bile from deep inside to murder Tom or destroy the ship... Unless Tom got promoted back to his old rank not because he was forgiven but because his replacement "chief helm officer" died during the course of some mission hours or days earlier and Tom should hardly have been surprised.
