I've just been rewatching these. How long does Malcolm spend in the brig - I get the impression of less than 24 hours. Doesn't seem very long for betraying and lying to your captain!

I've just been rewatching these. How long does Malcolm spend in the brig - I get the impression of less than 24 hours. Doesn't seem very long for betraying and lying to your captain!

I got the impression it's longer than just a day or so. After all, Columbia has to catch up with Enterprise. And Malcolm is returned to the brig after retrieving Trip.

I think it was at least a day. It was going to take the Klingon Fleet 3 days to reach Qu'Vat Colony. Malcolm came out of the brig to bring Trip aboard, then again to be confronted by Archer. He then probably sent the message to Harris then went back into the brig until Archer talked to Harris. In that scene Archer said "You don't have to go back to the Brig" Implying that he was in there prior to that meeting.

So at least a day, maybe 2 depending on the amount of time it took to reach the Klingon Colony.
