Doctor Who News Page reports that the BBC has cancelled the Adventure Games line of online-distributed videogames:

(Ironically this happens the same day a new trailer for the Eternity Clock PS3 game is released.)

For me it's not a big loss. Although I liked the idea of Matt, Karen and Arthur doing voices for the games (and they got one of the gals from Merlin involved in the last one), the games lost me when the North American release was only for PC, while the UK got the Mac version. (And yes I know it was possible to download the UK version and "crack it" but I needed a degree in hacking to do that and I saw horror stories about the Mac OS being corrupted by people screwing it up. I like Doctor Who but not enough to jeopardize my machine.) So when they pulled that nonsense the games ceased to exist as far as I was concerned. Did they even bother releasing the last few in North America? The reviews for the first couple games were hardly stellar.

I suppose Xbox and Wii fans might have similar gripes about Eternity Clock only being on PS3. Though I'm still waiting for confirmation whether it'll actually be released in North America.

This is a bit disappointing, as I felt with "The Gunpowder Plot" they were finally starting to get it right. I am looking forward to the PC release of "The Eternity Clock", just hoping it doesn't mark the end of DW games completely.

For what it's worth, the official site says that a Mac version of the latest episode, The Gunpowder Plot, is "coming soon" to the non-UK market.

Every episode is available for purchase in NA.
