Advanced Tactical Training

Does this ever get mentioned in the books? Is ATT ever described? What's it like?

I have an RPG character who is an ATT graduate, also former Special Ops, it would really help if I could find something in the Trek universe to read about this. I haven't been able to dig up anything about ATT other than... that it exists.

Hey there. Not a lot of answers on this page in Memory Beta:

but I think you'll have some of the flavor of ATT if you think about officers like Commander Elias Vaughn and Lieutenant Ro Laren. For more of a fleshed out sense of the aspects of their personalities that helped impel them toward ATT, and how the regimen reinforced, reified, altered, warped those traits, and even a few concrete examples of the techniques they learned, I'd read "Star Trek: The Lost Era--Serpents Among the Ruins" (Vaughn as a rookie Lt. in S.I./Covert Ops, as an integral participant in the biggest and most useful lie/hoax ever perpetrated by Starfleet!) and "Star Trek: The Next Generation--Battle of Betazed" for Vaughn; and the DS9 relaunch titles (Avatar and The Mission Gamma series) for Ro.

I realize this will be longer on the atmospherics than specifics, but I hope it helps somewhat.
