An advance screening in my area is not available, that I am aware of. If that changes and I could work the logistics, I would go.

I'm a bad Trekkie. I'm not gonna bother with the opening day much less advance screenings. In my defense, I'm going with "casual" Trekkies - even calling them that is an exaggeration - for whom fighting crowds is not even on the radar. :rommie:

Catching an advance screening I don't think will be feasible. Opening weekend is contingent upon it being on a screen fairly nearby, but it's more likely that I'll see it some time during the week following the opening.

I suppose I could go to Sydney tomorrow and mug someone for their ticket to the Opera House premiere, but that sounds like effort. :D

I do plan to see it as soon as possible once it opens for everyone, though.

I'm too afraid to see the movie opening day/weekend. The theater will be packed so my seat will suck. Plus there will be too many kids or teenagers and that will just drive me crazy. Part of me wants to see the theater opening day to support the franchise, but IMO it would not be worth it because th viewing experience would be diminshed.

I am however planning on seeing the movie at least twice. I want to see it in the regular theater and then at the IMAX theater!!

No offense, but it seems that many here are saying something to the effect of, "I'm too cranky to brave the lines, front row seats, and lunacy of opening day."

Damn it, this is Star Trek. Star Trek fans wait in line. Star Trek fans get dressed up in cheap costumes and funny ears. I'm planning to wait in line four hours on monday to make sure I get into that screening in Austin. It's the logical thing to do.

I'm afraid you are not the only one. My brother (who for decades ridiculed anything Trek) is an avid Big Bang Theory watcher. He wants us to go see Star Trek 09 together, but hates opening weekend crowds. Looks like I'll be going the next weekend or mid-week. :vulcan:

I'd go to an advance screening but I'm not sure there will be one (at least one that has the original, not the dubbed version). I'm planning to see it on opening day with a bunch of people.

HOW HOW HOW HOW??????

I have entered the Virgin 1 competition to go

I bought a ticket from The Prince's Trust, the chosen charity for the premiere - £70. Not much when you consider the price of tickets for West End musicals.

Would have gone to tomorrow's premiere if I weren't working.

As it is, I'll probably go opening night and/or whenever the fan club gets together to go.

Seeing it at an advanced screening is not an option available to me.

I'll be seeing it a few days after the May premiere.

What I find amazing is that two people actually chose the option "I don't plan to see the movie"... What are these people doing in a forum about a film they don't plan to see, not to mention a thread about WHEN people will see it? Huh?

Someone said there's going to be a advance screenings a week before the actual premiere...maybe.. but I want to see it on 12th of april, when the JJ and the cast will arrive, but after I spent hour or two searching for the tickets... I think there's no hope anymore :(

Man, I hope there are no ears and costumes for the movies' sake...

I'm at a matinee while my son's in school and my dog's sleeping after a killer walk.

I'll be seeing it on opening night at midnight, and on IMAX the next day. If it's truly awesome, I'll see it every weekend, even bypassing T4. Yeah, I'm a little obssessed. I'm 10 episodes away from finishing TOS, and plan on viewing the Animated Series, and 24th Century Trek all the way till Trek '09 arrives on Blu Ray.
