Adrienne Palick to play Lady Jaye in G.I. Joe: Cobra Strikes

Are they finally moving GI Joe the hell out of Belgium in this movie and back to the United States?

the Joes were never IN belgium. there was one scene at NATO HQ where McCullen was promoting his nano-weapons to NATO and Hawk and Cover Girl were there. that was it. the Joes were based in Egypt and visited Kazakstan, France and the North Pole.

so get your facts right.

I just saw her in Legion so I'm glad she's found more work after the failure of the Wonder Woman pilot, she's not only a beautiful looking woman but she's a ghood actress as well.

I can understand the desire to introduce more of the team (even though I am extremely partial to Rachael Nichols), but can we get a mention or a cameo.

maybe Colton'll say that he's taking Duke and Snakes off Alpha Team and putting them with Delta team for a special mission - with the Delta being Flint, Roadblock, Jinx and Jaye...

Well, it's got Dwayne Johnson and Ray Stevenson. At least the Badass percentage will be high.

I'm still wondering how you can have Cobra without Cobra Commander or Destro. That was the entire point of the first film, it built up Cobra and we saw the formation of G.I. Joe. I can live without Scarlett (they can explain she's on a special ops mission or something) but not to have Cobra Commander or Destro? I assume they'll be behind the scenes.

I'm glad she's got something since the Wonder Woman debacle. It will give me a chance to see how well she covers this type of territory. In the back of my mind I'm sure I'll be thinking about what might have been, especially if she kicks ass as Lady Jaye.

At least she'll be playing a character more appropriate for such ass-kicking. Some of the reports coming out of the WW pilot had Diana being made to do some pretty out-of-character violent things. GI Joe is an extremely violent franchise, so if Lady Jaye goes around knifing people at least it's appropriate.

i don't see why you can't have a story without CC and Destro. when CC was 'dead' in the comics and Destro left Cobra, they managed quite easily.

and that's without even mentioning 'Shakedown' which featured 4 characters and 2 planes: Ace and Jaye in the Skystriker vs Wild Weasel and Baroness in the Rattler; or mentioning the Special Missions comics which often didn't even feature Cobra at all!

I'm not saying that you can't have a sequel without CC or Destro, but the fact that it spent most of it's time building up to the ending we got and it being called "Rise of Cobra" and this one being called "Cobra Strikes" would make people think who saw the first movie that we'd be seeing Cobra Commander and Destro again. Like I said maybe they'll be manipulating events in the background and only be mentioned on screen by name or something like that. It's too early to tell how or if they'll be used. My point is though it is a bit silly not to use them in a sequel after you spent all that time building them up in the first movie.

it's not called 'Cobra Strikes' though, that's been debunked by the writers.

and remember, the first movie ended with them locked up on the USS Flagg...

That's true. I did remember reading something that the sequel would carry on the plot point of Zartan being the President and what kind of ramifications that would have. Unless those plot points have changed.

That's okay, without Sommers I doubt they'd get the Zartan guy back and I suspect Jonathan Pryce won't be back either. Do you think they'll re-cast Dr. Mindbender?

Recast or he simply won't be in the movie. I was reading earlier today that the script was written by the "Zombieland" guys. For those of you who've been tracking this more closely, are they still going with this draft or have they hired more writers? I love those two guys work. It gives me hope this film could be good still.

i'm disappointed Arnold Vosloo won't be back as Zartan. i enjoyed him in the two Mummy movies and his guest role on NCIS. i wonder if they will follow up on the Zartan plot point at all.
