Admit Your Bad Habits

Mr Silver

Commodore
Newbie
Didn't see any threads of the like around... Exactly as the thread says, Heres mine

*Biting My Fingernails (I've done it for years, I don't like having long fingernails, even though i'm a Guitarist and it would make Classical Playing so much easier...)
*Smoking (Goes without saying, i'm a mug for Nicotine)

Those are my current bad habits, in the past i've done such ludicrously disguting things like picking my nose and eating it and i've also had a habit of overusing "Antibacterial Hand Gel"

i also bite my nails. always have. i've had teachers and family yell at me for years about this habit. i know its gross but i can't help it.

I also bite my nails but I don't do it in public.

I do have a habit of talking to myself, even when I am out in public, I am not sure if this is considered a bad habit or not. I also sometimes sing to myself while out in public which, as I have a horrible singing voice, is probably a bad thing to do.

I don't bite my nails, but on occasion I tend to have some heavy nail on nail action going on; did that for years then -suddenly- stopped and now only do so when my nails have grown to (and beyond) female length.

I mostly drink my beer directly from the can (not with soda as I usually buy that in 1½ l. bottles)

I pee standing when at home.

I use the same water glass and/or coffee mug for days, weeks even.

I only open my mail box about once a week.

I sometimes wear the same T-shirt for days (and nights).

I tend to procrastinate a lot.

I do have a habit of talking to myself,
So do I -xcept, now I'm talking to my cat (in case anyone asks ;) )
even when I am out in public, I am not sure if this is considered a bad habit or not.
Always have one ear plug of your portable music player in! -people might assume you're on the phone :p

I tend to do this too.

When I get bored I start biting my fingerTIPS, the skin not the nails. It becomes a compulsion to the point where the skin gets raw and red afterwards, and sometimes I go too far and bite into the layer underneath.

I also do the same with my lower lip, which makes me have to barrage it with chapstick every morning so it doesn't look nasty :x

I too bite my fingernails. Dunno if its considered a bad habit but i'm very cynical. I also have a terrible temper. Although i'm working on it.

Hmm, what else? I tend to often misplace small objects, much to my boss's annoyance. Bits, small screwdrivers and such.

I have the bad habits of easily getting addicted/obsessed/attached to things I like for extended periods of time in unhealthy amounts and of being incredibly organized but serious lack of will to stay organized. In other words, my room is messy even though I'm fully capable of making it the most beautiful, perfect organized room you've ever seen. Grr. *lazy*

I feel sure there's a good joke to be made here about a connection between the two. Lots of easy mediocre gags, sure, but I reckon there's a good one under the surface. I'll root around in my subconscious later and see if it emerges...

... anyway, bad habit? I think I've purged myself of most of them, or at least, integrated them sufficiently into my personality that they no longer seem unwanted to me...

I have solved most of the physical addiction problems it will be 5 years in jan 13 with out a cigarette but well ever since like the early 90's when I put down crystal-meth pipe I have been pulling out my toe nails sorta like the "cutting" phenomenon but with out a knife you know just the pulling out of the toe nails I have the three smallest toes without nails now and well I seem to get blood all over the place and therapy is a joke really well *not really* just it does not help the only real thing I had come up with was like for nail bitting is ware gloves or for my toes to keep my socks on 24-7 I know it sucks being me and all but hey someone has to pull off my toe nails and if I am not doing it someone else would?

some people say I am using when I hurt myself but well what ever at least I am not waking for weeks and such from the meth right?

sorry I typed so much I know I dislike when I don't get to the point but that is just me I guess

I used to slash my arms with a modelling knife, cos I thought it made me like an Indian, and I heard Iggy Pop did it on stage.

I got over it.

Farting ten to the dozen in otherwise unoccupied elevators for the delectation of future occupants.

Swearing at the goddamn piece of utter crap that is any incarnation of Microsoft Windows.

Hanging up rudely on cold callers.

Hmm... bad habits.... I´d say punctuality and phone-calls.

I am most of the time 5 minutes late, though never more than 10...and I always get up in time, earlier than I have to even... but still..somehow I always end up being late nontheless.
And I tend to ignore phone-calls, when I just than don´t want to be on a phone.

TerokNor

I don't bite my nails, but I pick at my fingernails, especially when I'm driving.

My housekeeping is all over the place, literally and figuratively. I'm either OCD neat or, more often, a total slob, to the point where bills are paid late because I can't find the paperwork. Everything in my house does have its place; it just doesn't usually get there.

I'm also a dreadful comfort eater, which is why I'm borderline obese.

I used to slash my arms with a modelling knife, cos I thought it made me like an Indian...

Dot or feather?

I am confident the answer will elicit further hilarity either way, so feel obliged to ask.

I think the way the American Indians do it, they cut the vein or artery and spray people with the blood. So did Iggy Pop, on stage.

I just used to to cat-type scratches, on the outer bit, and very impressive it looked, too.

I have a few OCD tendencies, nothing like checking the cooker 50 times or anything like that, but just a few routines which I rarely deviate from.
It takes me ages to get ready to go out, especially if I'm going somewhere special.
I leave my slippers anywhere and everywhere.
I like to eat in front of the television, unless there are guests, or a special meal of some sort.
I don't like to wear anything more than underwear when at home.

I'm sure there are far worse things, but I'll leave it there for now.
