Admiral Alidar Jarok, Esquire

I'll let you know. I'm not exactly motivated to take this any time soon and, I expect Maryland would be the next most likely. However, you never know.

I just got a letter telling me that I have to pay Bar dues. They didn't wait long for that

No, they never do! At my graduation, the alumni person was already asking for donations! Yeah, right.

California is a FOUR month wait for the July Bar, three for the February. And you find out usually around Thanksgiving weekend. What a wonderful thing to be thankful for, OR it really blows the holiday apart.

Cali is bad for the PE too. It's a much longer wait than the rest of the country based on people I've talked to. North Dakota by reciprocity has been a bitch. I need to apply to MT and/or SD likely as well pretty soon here.

ND will be my 6th state I owe dues to, any others beyond that will be more. I need to retire some of my licenses back on the east coast I don't need right now in the midwest. I'm going broke!

Here's one a business attorney told me....

What's the one good thing about lawyers?

They're biodegradable!

The Bar where they already know your name. Send the dues in as Norm Peterson.

And never forget those immortal words of Shakespeare, honoring your chosen profession.

Dick: The first thing we do, let’s kill all the lawyers.
Henry VI, part II, act IV, scene ii, lines 83–84.

"The justice system works swiftly in the future, now that they've abolished all lawyers."
Doc Brown, 2015

Use it while you can!

They're terrible, so IBR is definitely my main goal (specifically, public service repayment).

Not a permanent one, no. I'm volunteering right now. I was authorized to handle cases under the supervision of an attorney while in law school. It's unclear if I can continue to represent those clients under supervision while waiting to be sworn, but I'm hoping I can. It doesn't seem right that I can't do as much as someone who passed the bar exam as I could before I passed it.

Well, lawyers are known for their drinking. Omg, my friends at lunch! One guy got lost three times going back to work. It would be funny if it weren't so scary.

^Who hasn't gotten a little jaded with their profession now and again?

Oh boy, dirt and pavement again...fuck my life. (I'll never mind the sewage part, because I love a good poop joke.)

Congratulations!

I offer the traditional blessing from my people on such an occasion: "May that which devours you chew quickly!"
