For your games (or fiction), have you ever taken an alien species from a different sci-fi universe and put them in your version of Trek? It's something I've done from time to time, and I often think about it when I discover a new world that tickles the right fancy.
I'll be honest, I don't really have a reason for asking other than idle curiosity. I'm bored, and I'd like to know what other people think.
For me, probably, my favorite ones to adapt in the past have been the Minbari and Narn from Babylon 5, and the Delvians from Farscape.
What species would you put in Trek, and why? Would they be Federation members, a new contact, adversaries? Or nothing more than an archaeological oddity, remnants of an ancient civilization long-dead by the 24th century?
I imagine for most, you'd do something like this for an NPC race for an adventure or campaign, but have you ever had a crewmember (PC or NPC) from such a "translated" race?
