Adam (The Way To Eden) Charles Napier

Charles Napier is responsible for one of my favorite convention memories. Somewhere in the early 2000s, I went to a local science fiction/horror con with some friends on a Sunday afternoon. As the day was winding down, my friends and I gathered in the lobby of the hotel, basically just checking in with each other and seeing if there were any other guests we wanted to meet before we called it a day. We all expressed disappointment that we hadn't gotten to see Charles Napier at all.

Not five minutes later, Charles Napier walked by us, on the way back to his table from the men's room. We didn't stop him for long, but he was friendly enough to say hello and shake our hands. We didn't get a picture with him or anything, but we all had a fun moment where we felt like we'd just summoned one of our favorite character actors out of the ether. :)

There’s very little 3rd season story documentation. It appears J.M. Lucas preferred to work with meetings and phone calls and not story memos, and Freiberger followed suit, so the BTS documentation gets slim. I’ll look tho.
That's a shame. It would be a valuable resource for future generations to learn how to avoid their mistakes. ;)

There’s very little 3rd season story documentation.
At USC, in July 1985 and presumably today as well, the Special Collections of the library held all of George Duning's materials from the episodes he worked on, including the third season: production memos, call sheets, criticism of early script drafts, etc. I saw all this material myself. (I was only able to take notes in pencil, no other copying allowed.) For Duning's episodes, at least, this third-season documentation should still exist.

(Of course "Eden" was closer to the end of the third season, whereas the episodes Duning worked on were planned much earlier; Roddenberry wrote a few of those early story memos I saw, concerning "Is There in Truth...".)

Hard to think that he got started in Counter-culture roles then became "The Man"!! Kind of ironic actually..
