Charles Napier is responsible for one of my favorite convention memories. Somewhere in the early 2000s, I went to a local science fiction/horror con with some friends on a Sunday afternoon. As the day was winding down, my friends and I gathered in the lobby of the hotel, basically just checking in with each other and seeing if there were any other guests we wanted to meet before we called it a day. We all expressed disappointment that we hadn't gotten to see Charles Napier at all.
Not five minutes later, Charles Napier walked by us, on the way back to his table from the men's room. We didn't stop him for long, but he was friendly enough to say hello and shake our hands. We didn't get a picture with him or anything, but we all had a fun moment where we felt like we'd just summoned one of our favorite character actors out of the ether.
