Actually enjoying Season 1 the third time around

I thought they had encountered human traders before. I seem to recall that Cyrano Jones and Mudd both operated in the Klingon sphere.

Just because there is a war on doesn't mean everyone runs out and goes to war.

I thought it made sense that the Klingon Empire was somewhat diverse, like real-world empires tend to be, to the point where a few humans running around on the Klingon capital wouldn't raise suspicion.

I tend to lean this way but I love the visuals of the MU and its interpretation in this production so its hard to really be sad that we got it.

But, I do like the idea of Lorca being Prime and suffering from trauma that makes him more apt to go to the extremes, like Maxwell in TNG.

Or they could have earnestly had the pragmatism vs idealism debate.
