Actors Jumping Comics Universes

Jaimie Alexander as Wonder Woman
or
Gina Carano as Wonder Woman

Cobie Smulders as Lois Lane

Jeremy Irons as Mr. Freeze

Paul Giamatti as The Penguin

Nothing new here. Back in the forties, Tom Tyler jumped from playing Captain Marvel (Fawcett Comics) to playing The Phantom (King Features). And Buster Crabbe, of course, played Buck Rogers and Flash Gordon, both of whom originated in the comic strips . . . .

There was another universe jumper in Batman v Superman.
Lex's assistant Mercy Graves is played by Tao Okamoto who played Mariko Yashida in The Wolverine.

Chris Evans ought to count, even though both of his "universes" were Marvel-based.

Although before either of those, he played a superpowered individual in Paul McGuigan's Push (along with other future MCU actors Ming-Na Wen, Djimon Hounsou, and Corey Stoll). They were referred to as psychics, but it was essentially a superhero universe without the costumes and nicknames.

Chris Evans was also in the adaptation of Scott Pilgrim vs the World.

Michael Jai White was Spawn (Image) and Bronze Tiger (DC).

But for my universe jumping, Wesley Snipes (Blade/Marvel) as DC's Bronze Tiger or Black Spider.

I love all these guys.

I think the intent was adaptations of actual comics.

Carla Gugino and Jeffrey Dean Morgan were in Watchmen and will also be in Batman vs. Superman. The latter actor also has an upcoming role on The Walking Dead, but that probably doesn't count because it's not a film. Don't know if it should also be disqualified because it's not about superheroes.

Scott Pilgrim's cast also included Thomas Jane (the 2004 The Punisher) in a bit role, as well as Mae Whitman (who's voiced Batgirl in Batman: The Brave and the Bold, Wonder Girl and Stephanie Brown in Young Justice, and April O'Neill in the current Ninja Turtles cartoon). And it's not comics-based, but the movie's lead actress Mary Elizabeth Winstead starred in Disney's supehero high school comedy Sky High (opposite The Flash's Danielle Panabaker, Wonder Woman's Lynda Carter, and Bruce Campbell of Lois and Clark and the Spider-Man trilogy).

D'OH!!!!!!

Most of the real defectors all seem to defect to Marvel rather than the opposite. If Downey did a DC film, let's say playing Ra's al Ghul (sic), how would Marvel take it?

Well, as noted, J.K. Simmons is going from playing to J. Jonah Jameson to Commissioner Gordon . . ..

And didn't Halle Berry play Storm before she played Catwoman?
