Actors in Other Roles

Tee hee...you ended up getting me motivated (not to mention getting me to stay up WAY too late :p )

See...I can make an avatar. I just can't make them talk and dance and roll over and do tricks and take off towels so that posters in Misc make comments about almost nekkid Jamie Bamber.
Oh, don't tell anyone, but you're not the only one who stayed up way too late because of this. :shifty:

Okay, I tried to do an animated avatar for you, but I'm not really satisfied with the result. Unfortunately Sayid isn't really dancing, rolling over, doing tricks or taking off a towel in that episode. So all I can do is to make him look like he's breathing and let him blink every few frames; in other words, to make him look alive. Believe me, I tried many different versions, but neither really looked very good. So I leave it to you whether you want to use it or not. Either way, I hope you like it. :)

But I see you already made yourself a nice new Sayid avatar. I love it! :techman:

Oh, and another thing: Thanks for the nice words, PK.

I think Dominic Monaghan was in some D&D movie a few years back. I'm not sure. I don't think it did very well.

Not to mention it dawned on me that Bernard (Sam Anderson) was that docotr in foerrst Gump that told his mom his IQ was too low for public school.
Weeeell that's not quite accurate. He was to my understanding the principal of the school. And also hilarious sequence with Forrest sitting outside the house while his mom makes sure Forrest can go to the school by doing to principal some favors. Love the bit at the ened where Forrest "qoutes" his sounds back at him

I saw that film recently and was quietly surprised to see everyone's favourite dentist as the sleazy school principal. :guffaw:

Of course, all this talk of actors in other roles has to include the mighty Alan Dale - 24, The OC, Ugly Betty, The West Wing, Torchwood, NCIS... but will forever be known as Jim Robinson from Neighbours. :bolian:

I also watched the recent instalment of Messiah and the film Black Knight and was surprised to see the uber-beautiful Marsha Thomason (Naomi) there. :D

I also noticed just how many LOST actors have appeared in some form of Star Trek too - Alan Dale (in Nemesis), Daniel Dae Kim, Terry O'Quinn (brilliant in "The Pegasus"), Sam Anderson (in "The Royale"! :wtf:)... and even Daniel Roebuck as a dissident Romulan in "Unification".

In Smallville you can sometimes see Evangeline Lily walk the halls of the High School in the show, not sure for how many seasons she was in for though but I it seems like it one of her earlier walk on roles. I did also notice that in a season 3 episode that she was in they also had Ian Somerhalder as a guest role and in one scene he walks by Evageline. Obviously they wouldn't know each other at this point but they'd probably remeber it later on.

Dominic Monaghan is in the new Wolverine Origins movie, just saw it today, was suprised when he showed up in it :)

Kevin Durand (Keamy) was there, too, as The Blob.

My favorite "other" role for each of the Lost cast is as follows...
Terry O'Quinn (John Locke) as Peter Watts on MillenniuM
Clancy Brown (Kelvin Joe Inman) as Brother Justin Crowe on Carnivale
Harold Perrineau, Jr. (Michael Dawson) as Augustus Hill on Oz
Ken Leung (Miles Straume) as Don in Keeping the Faith
Jeremy Davies (Daniel Faraday) as Snow in Solaris
Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje (Mr. Eko) as Simon Adebisi on Oz
Cynthia Watros (Libby) as Erin on Titus
Nestor Carbonell (Richard Alpert) as Batmanuel on The Tick
Fredric Lehne (Marshall Edward Mars) as Azazel on Supernatural
Doug Hutchison (Horace Goodspeed) as Eugene Victor Tooms on The X-Files
Patrick Fischler (Phil) as Dan in Mulholland Dr.
Kim Dickens (Cassidy Phillips) as Joanie Stubbs on Deadwood
Fionnula Flanagan (Eloise Hawking) as Bertha Mills in The Others
Lance Reddick (Matthew Abbadon) as John Basil/Desmond Mobay on Oz
Katey Sagal (Helen Norwood) as Turanga Leela on Futurama
Robin Weigert (Rachel Burke) as Jane Canary on Deadwood
Paula Malcolmson (Colleen Pickett) as Trixie on Deadwood

She's credited as "Wade's Girlfriend" in the Season 1 episode "Kinetic." Don't know what other background appearances she might've made on that series (I'd have to browse through my Smallville DVDs to be sure). One other walk-on role she had was in Freddy vs. Jason. She has one scene where you can see her in the background at the high school as she moves from her locker to one of the classrooms.

I've actually been getting the series on rental and so far I'm up as far as season 3 and you can sometimes make her out in at least every episode set in the highs school. It seems that she's a recurring background extra, much like what most of the background extras on Lost are.

Cool! I'll keep an eye out next time I watch. If her walk-on roles cease after Season 3, it'd make sense since Season 4 would've come at the same time as the first season of Lost, and Hawai'i is a long way away from Vancouver.

Saw Smokin' Aces recently and was surprised to see Matthew Fox as a member of hotel security:

The first 2/3rd of that movie were pretty entertaining, the ending was rubbish though.

Naveen Andrews in Grindhouse/Planet Terror.
Clancy Brown The Shawshank Redemption
Daniel Roebuck in Matlock
Terry Oquinn in Old School as Luke Wilson's boss
Matthew Fox in We Are Marshall
Michael Emerson in Saw

Clancy Brown will forever and always be the voice of Lex Luthor for me due to his voice over work in Superman: The Animated Series and later Justice League/Justice League Unlimited.

I spotted Jennifer Morrison (Cameron on House MD) in the Brangelina movie Mr. and Mrs. Smith. And of course she plays Winona Kirk in Star Trek.

what season did jennifer show up on lost? i don't remember seeing her. O_O

latest one for me is jacob - rita's abusive husband from dexter. that's what i keep seeing everytime i see him as jacob. >_<

Please don't ask why, but I was forced to suffer through My Bloody Valentine 3D the other day and spotted Kevin Tighe (Locke's father on Lost) in one of the roles. Like most of the characters he found a rather gruesome (and bloody) death.
