Actor Percy Rodrigues Dead at 86

MemoryAlpha has reported that Rodrigues (remembered by Trek fans for his strong performance as Commodore Stone in "Court Martial") passed away on September 6th of kidney ailments.

A fine fine actor with a commanding screen presence.

That's a real shame. I actually saw him in an episode of The Wild Wild West on DVD just a week or so ago and was thinking "where is he now"? I guess I know.

His Los Angeles Times obituary mentioned his Trek appearance, and pointed out that he hadn't played "...just a helper on the bridge."

I liked his performance so much that when I was casting my aternate universe Trek, Forbidden Planets, I made him CMO opposite Adam West's captain and Gary Lockwood's android science officer.

I always wished they had reused Commodore Stone in later episodes. But Jose Mendez(Malachi Throne)was already in command of Starbase 11 by the time "The Menagerie" rolled around a couple of episodes later(in actual chronological procession and production order).

Or do I have the order wrong?

The Menagerie came right after Court Martial. In the scope of the Trek universe it's probably safe to assume they're part of one long stay at Starbase 10 by the Enterprise crew.
