Accomplishments for the year 2009

I guess I really did accomplish a lot.

1. Lost about 80 lbs
2. Cut my meat intake by half and increased my vegetable intake by several fold (from none, to some)
3. Took much better care of my teeth. Had a root canal and wisdom teeth on left side removed. The other two are coming out this year. I can actually eat candy again without wincing.
4. Quit soda and alcohol entirely
5. Wrote about half of a novel (still working on it)

I still have a ways to go in certain areas. I spent every penny I earned this year (again). I still haven't found the right balance between my writing and leisure time. It seems like I'm either spending all my free time writing, or spending all my free time goofing off- no happy medium.

1. I lost about 70lbs, which is an achievement and a curse.
2. I managed to reinvent myself and put an end to a chapter of my life.
3. After a bit of a nightmare I (well, my lawyer) got my ex to see sense and see my daughter on a regular basis.
4. I cut out the bad influences in my life and told them exactly what I thought of them.
5. I managed to impress a few promoters and choose who succeeded me.
6. Got paid to watch and talk about Star Trek.

I could list a few more accomplishments, but aside from my family situation I'm pretty much in the same boat I was last year in terms of finance which is not so good.

1. Got a new job which doubled my income.
2. Moved to New Jersey and made new friends. Woot!
3. Vicariously had another baby (my wife's the one who actually did the work.)
4. Helped my family move from one house to another. Moving sucks.
5. Finished writing, editing, and typesetting a novel.
6. Um... think that's it.

1. I didn't starve.
2. I have a roof over my head.
3. I still see the glass half full rather than half empty.

The way the last couple of years have been, I think that is an excellent accomplishment. The rest is cake.

I learned to scuba dive. I gained a professional qualification that could lead me in another career direction. I didn't conquer, but I came to have more insight into, my mental health. I increased my social circle and increased my family responsibilities.

I graduated college, lost fifty pounds and secured a job in a foreign country. I also made some important decisions that I expect will improve my life for the better in general.

  1. Survived my horrible day job.
  2. Started cleaning the house regularly.
  3. Got into a habit of decluttering.
  4. Started looking for a better apartment.
  5. Started working on my finances and getting out of debt.
  6. Got a staph infection in both eyes. At the same time.
  7. Learned how to live as a blind person for 2 weeks.
  8. Finally started taking care of my dental stuff.
  9. Started a better relationship with my parents.
  10. Rediscovered Star Trek.
  11. Took the plunge and started taking acting classes.
  12. Finally got some head shots taken.
  13. Went out on audtions.
  14. Got 3 offers from talent agents to meet and I'm going to sign with at least one of them in Janurary.

Quite a lot in many ways, but not enough for my liking.

1. My hair's another 6 inches longer, so it's longer than it's ever been.
2. Got a band together properly. Now I have to write more music and get the ball rolling faster.
3. I'm more popular than I've ever been. Which is a bit of a loserish thing to say, but I am a bit of a loser.
4. Nearly got chosen to be in a play. Wasn't actually chosen, but considering I'd never acted before, I was happy enough.
5. Passed a university year.

That's all I can think of for now.

1. Moved to Arlington
2. Got a new car
3. Survived a rapid decompression
4. Didn't vomit on national television
5. Fell in love
6. Turned 30, sober
7. Spearheaded a new initiative at NASA
8. Got #5 pregnant
9. Rebuilt my rather shoddy credit
10. Saw a night launch
