AC/DC's New Album!!!!

Thanks for posting, but I'm going to wait until my pre-ordered copy arrives from Amazon, hopefully in the next few days. And I already have my ticket for their Dublin gig in April next year, even though tickets don't actually go on sale till tomorrow. Thanks to my radio-station working brother-in-law - though I stress that being a true fan, I've paid for it, I didn't ask for a freebie!

I'm more excited about the tour than the album, though reviews suggest that this is a return to form. I think the last good AC/DC album was The Razor's Edge and the last great one Back In Black. I don't expect Black Ice to be as good as BIB, but if it's as good as TRE, I'll be pretty happy.

Lynrd.com :

‘In April 2014, responding to various reports about the band’s retirement, its members stated that they had been unable to perform because of Young’s illness. It has been reported now that the guitarist has been moved into a full-time care nursing home facility specializing in dementia in Sydney.‘

F*ck, I hope that's not true. I'd pictured him as being not strong enough to stand up to the rigours of rock 'n roll, but otherwise himself and recuperating. That's awful.

I'll be pre-ordering the album, not sure if I'll chance a Belfast concert or try for England, I'll see what I can afford lol.

The Malcolm Young story is apparently true. His place is being taken by, iirc, Steven Young, a nephew.

There have been a lot of news stories about this over the last couple of days. Re Stevie Young - it's great news and I am very glad it managed to stay in the family. Re Malcolm Young, all I can offer is hopes and prayers. Perhaps, too, if any good is to be thought of in this time is that maybe it will cause dementia to have a little more awareness in people. A lot of us have been affected by it.

That's really sad about Malcolm. One of the most under-appreciated guitarists out there. He definitely rides in the same boat as Rudy Schenker and Jimmy Vaughn.

What a lot of fans don't realise is that DC are Malcolm's band. He's the boss and he steers the ship. Or he did.

Yeah, Stevie's a guitarist in his own right and is only four years younger than Malcolm. Stevie's Dad was the eldest brother of the father of Malcolm and Angus. Stevie's son is also called Angus !

Very sad about Malcolm.

Still can't wait for the new album though, will be interesting to hear what they can do without Malcolm, what with him being one of the two main writers.

Good to hear they have the living legend Brendan O'Brien back in the chair though, he really brought their last album to another level.

Very saddened by Mal's condition...

Oh, and I am Roshi and I approve of this thread resurrection! :techman:

Very sad indeed

Yea :(, but they did a good job on the poster. A good salute to a good musician.
