AC/DC fires Brian Johnson?

Yep, can't see it working well to be fair. Brian's the only big-name rock/metal singer of his generation, or the one after it, that I can think of who ever had the upper range, and looked after it well enough to still be able to sing a gig using it.

It's a poor idea. Twitter's pretty much negative about this and a lot of people want a refund option. If anyone's worried about showtimes being delayed by Axl though, dont -you don't mess with the Youngs. If he tries any of his diva sh*t, he's likely to be found dead in a ditch.

DC have only ever produced a couple of decent tracks per album post Back in Black and nothing any good at all on the last two or three. It's time to go...

I think Axl will probably do ok; clips that have surfaced of him singing DC stuff generally are pretty good (there's one of Angus playing with GnR quite recently), though the broken leg will hamper things.

However, the curt and business-like thanks to Brian for his 'contribution' is quite shocking and leaves a bad taste. This is the guy who did the near-impossible in following Bon and sang on and co-wrote the album that put them in the mega-leagues. He deserves a better farewell than he got.

It's a harsh world the Youngs run...

That's true, there's not a lot in AC/DC's back catalogue that's ever going to get critical acclaim, and half of it all sounds the same, but it's still good fun.

While not ideal it's certainly an intriguing idea to have Axl singing for AC⚡DC. Though it's hard to imagine them without Brian.

Whilst not being keen on the idea, I thought it might be better than this :

With Axl Rose as lead singer the AC/DC fans better prepare themselves for some late starting gigs...

Yeah, the AC/DC ship is a very professional one. I can't imagine that they signed Axl up without impressing on him that his diva antics (which have apparently lessened lately anyway) wouldn't be tolerated. I imagine that there are probably penalty clauses in his contract for that sort of stunt.

I would imagine there's a couple of very large guys on call to carry his ass on stage if he plays up...

At least they confirmed it on their website. I've been a fan of a particular band, and when the band effectively broke up, their website was never updated to confirm it and fans were left with speculation after one member decided to leave. It was everywhere else but the website.

I love AC/DC, but have never been much of a Guns n' Roses fan, particularly of Axl's screechy falsetto so I will pass on this, and anything he does with the band in the future.
I feel bad for Brian Johnson, but the guy is 68 with probably a ton of money in the bank so I don't think he's going to be clipping coupons anytime soon. If/when he rejoins the band, or releases a solo album I'll be there to support him, but the important thing right now is to save his hearing.

Maybe this is just for the tour and nothing else. Right?

I mean, we really can't expect another record after Rock or Bust anyway, but if there is another, certainly Brian will be making it with them.

Angus is the youngest of the band, he's 61. Supposedly he wants to go another 10 years so that means at least 1 more album.

There are no guarantees that Brian will record with them again.

OMG! It gets worse! Axl Rose is rumored to be the "guest vocalist" that's going to sing for the make up shows! It can't get much worse than that!:barf:

Hmmm. Not a single AC/DC concert will start on time ever again, now. I wish them nothing but the best of luck - they're going to need it with Axl at the helm not to drive this band into the ground too. I do hope that several decades of being generally relegated to general irrelevance in the rock industry might be enough servings of humble-pie to warrant some new level of professionalism in the man. Should be an interesting train-wreck to watch, at any rate, although Johnson and Rose do seem to have similar singing styles. I can see why he was tapped to replace him.
