Abramsverse vs NuTrek. It is time to settle on a title!

I'm against anything that has JJ or Abrams in it to denote the nuTrek...and that's what it is..."New" and it is also Trek....so what's the problem with NuTrek...? Oh nothing since that's what most of us call it anyway.

^^ But we can agree that nuTrek is more appropriate when you think about it...JJverse just sounds wrong...doesn't have a nice "ring" to it....and really it's not his "verse"...he just got on for the ride... but he didn't start the thing.

I've decided to call the new stuff "Star Trek" and the old stuff "Star Track" like half the people do anyway.

I suggest a compromise--Abramsverse or JJverse is used to refer to the new timeline itself, while the series of films, or whatever we end up getting, is called nuTrek. I would go for simply Alternate Timeline/Universe, but that feels far too generic for me. Maybe when we learn more about it in later movies, a better name will suggest itself.

For example:
Voyager took place in the Delta Quadrant
nuTrek takes place in the Abramsverse

As a bit of a side note, am I the only one who thinks of Insurrection when he sees the movie written ST09? I agree with NileQT87 in calling the movie The Future Begins. No ambiguity there!

So go post a review in the Grading & Discussion thread at the top of the forum, explaining why you think so. That's an appropriate place for a critique of Abrams/the new movie, while this thread is not. Here, a post like the above amounts to little more than a drive-by potshot.
