Abramsverse vs NuTrek. It is time to settle on a title!

I cast my vote for Abramsverse. It sets a bad example for kids to see words spelled incorrectly. If you wanted to call it NewTrek then things might be different but it's to late to bring in a third title option. When I eventually make the thread 'Did Kirk's penis inflate like his fingers after the injection" I want the kids to be proud there reading it in a forum that suports proper spelling.

I had at one point proposed calling it TNT, for The New Timeline. Makes it easily distinguishable using similar style acronyms already in used such as TOS, TNG, DS9, etc.

But it would appear I was the only one who thought that was a good idea.:sigh:

Let Star Trek be Star Trek and let the old Star Trek be known henceforth as Old Trek. Or Classic Trek, which ever you prefer.

The C++ standard which will probably become C++09 was for a very long time called "C++0x" because nobody knew when it would actually come out. I always thought that was a rather neat name.

Thus I propose "Star Trek 0x".

What a lot of bull.

Microsoft "reimagined" the whole deal and, when deciding on a name, made the ++ into a #. Thus, I propose "Star Treq".

All of the Trek acronyms come from the TV five series, not one single movie. And the new movie is still part of the TOS series of storys, no matter how hard people try to deny it.

It took me a minute, I was reading Borgminister's reply thinking "That's uncalled for" then I realised...

For me, I'm a big fan of calling the whole kit and kaboodle Star Trek and working it out from there :)

NuTrek, on the assumption that future Trek productions after JJ will fall into this universe.

TNT looks too much like TnT, which, of course, is short for Trip and T'Pol.

ST '09 or ST:TFB/TFB. The alternate title or subtitle for the film was The Future Begins, F.Y.I. It might help separate the franchise name from the specific film.
