ABRAMSVERSE Uniform Variants

Wr've seen a lot of uniform variants in Star Trek and Into Darkness, has anyone kept a tally of all the variant designs and what they mean? There's a lot!!

http://www.st-spike.org/pages/uniforms/uniforms.htm this is a great resource for all the 'prime universe' but it's not been updated since 2007.

Additionally the leaked pictures from ST BEYOND seem to show some of the best new variants yet!

Well, it hasn't been updated at all in almost a decade so I wouldn't hold your breath.

Which is too bad because I like seeing the different uniform variants.

I hope to some day be able to compile them all together like the layout in the Technical Manual or Mr. Scott's Guide to the Enterprise.

The biggest difference between new and old Trek, is that new has Earthside uniforms in addition to the ones worn on the ship.

Black - Earthside duty
Red - Earthside cadet
Grey - Earthside dress
Plus variants for security (all black, gloves etc)

Don't forget the scuba gear!

Security definitely got an interesting variant on Earth when delivering the torpedoes. Unless that is supposed to be S31?

That appears to be the standard shipboard pants and undershirt, but with a funny quilted vest of some kind.

Heh, I hadn't noticed that torpedo said "CVN-65" on it before.

As many times as I've seen that picture, I never noticed it until your post. Good catch, drt! :techman:

Good point, though the vest and hat are unique to that officer. Would be curious to see more.

That is one thing I really liked about the JJ films. Real life navies have a wide variety of uniforms for various duties and situations. It always seemed weird that Starfleet had one, maybe two variants.
