I don't know what this has to do with DS9 either, but I'm glad to hear JJ has acknowledged and learned from some of those mistakes - although I wouldn't use the word "mistake." Whatever the term is, the viewer reaction is totally subjective either way. I, on the other hand, acknowledge that my negative experience with parts of STID do not line up with the overwhelmingly popularity of the film - but it's at least good to know that I'm not the only one who was majorly turned off by certain parts of the film. I did enjoy other parts of STID, and really did enjoy ST'09 as well as Super 8. To me, Super 8 had the same feel as ET. It felt classic right away. The casting was amazing. Those child actors had a realness that you don't see often nowadays with child actors. I'm excited to see where JJ takes Star Wars.
