About that broadcast censorship in "To The Death"...

...does the version on DVD put the forty-five seconds of cut footage (deemed 'too violent') back into the episode? I read on Wikipedia and confirmed on Memory Alpha that it was taken out, but the writing on the subject from Wikipedia insinuated that it's put back into the episode for the DVD release.

I'd think so, cuz I think they aired here anyway... and Canada is touchier about violence than the US...

I thought it was that there was 45 seconds cut, then in some places like the UK it was cut even more, and thats what was restored, not the original 45 seconds. I may be wrong, that was just the impression I got from MemAlpha.

That's the impression I got from Memory Alpha, too.

Still, Marie1's answer would seem to imply otherwise. I think this might be a case of whoever wrote these bits across the Wikis being less than perfect in their... wording.

Hmmm.... what 45 seconds are you speaking of? I remember seeing fighting, slashing, stabbing and such almost all through the episode (From Canada)

Too Violent?

And this wasn't?

Ah, I just ready the Alpha background info..... that's just stupid.

Whatever you tried to paste up there, ex-astris-scientia didn't seem to appreciate it...

Worked for me, but I just replaced the image with another, so you should be able to see this one.

But I'm curious if I seen this footage not shown or not.....

They should have gone all out.... have Sisko ripping a heart out and taking a bite with a growl or something

Well, from the descriptions I've read of what was cut... it sounds like what I saw...

I see it now, Praxius. Too true.

Marie1, that's a bit of a relief, then. I'd hate to miss something that the crew were so displeased was cut from some airwaves.

Then things must have changed then since "To the Death" was aired.

There'a show called "Star Wars; The Clone Wars" on the Cartoon Network that frequently airs violent content- beheadings, slashes ect.
