I finally tracked down the 1701-A and D.
Does anyone have information on the Nemesis variant 1701-E that's being rereleased? It's never been done before....right?

You do know that Diamond Select wasn't the producer of that 1701-D... both are "Art Asylum" models.I have a little question about the model of the USS Enteprise-E, Art Asylum's version.
Does it have lights-on-permanently feature like Diamond Select Toys' Enteprise-D has?
Thanks! (:

AA has done some great work, overall... they've definitely raised the bar insofar as "toy" products are concerned, with props, ship miniatures, and figures.
They have made several great starships. I actually have the entire set of "Enterprises" up on top of my bookshelf in my office. The NX-01, the NCC-1701, the 1701-A, the 1701-D and the 1701-E. I also have the TMP 1701 (same model, different appearance... actually very attractive), the 1701-D refit, the mirror 1701, the "HD" 1701, and both pilot 1701s. All of these are from Art Asylum, and were sold through Diamond Select, though in a few cases sold exclusively through "Entertainment Earth" as premium variants. The only ones I lack are the mirror NX-01 and the "battle damaged" variants (which are, frankly, prohibitively expensive!)
The "special mode" for each can be activated by pressing and holding down the "activation button" (normally the bridge) for several seconds. There are two "special modes" which they used.
The first mode, used on the original 1701 model, was to permanently turn on the lights... complete with "shimmery" nacelle caps and flashing blinkies.
As far as I know, every other version had the "play all effects in sequence, then shut off" mode. This includes the other 1701 models, as well as all the later versions.
My version of the 1701-D plays the second mode, by the way. I suppose it's possible that some version of the 1701-D model was put out with a "forever on" function, but as far as I know, that ONLY happened with the first 1701 model.

To my knowledge, there was only 1 run of E-D's.
Press the button at the base of impulse engine.
Mine also has the "mostly-block-coloring" (with just a few pseudo-aztec-ish areas).I finally tracked down the 1701-A and D.

I knew they were re-releasing it, but I didn't know they were updating the paint job so drastically. My version has a lot of block colors where that has Aztec detailing. Looks like a good buy.

I noticed that this one also has the paint on the pylon upper sides... which as a HUGE "bitch" of mine.
As a side note... I saw in the video that the guy's ship had blue lamps on the upper nacelle. Mine doesn't... do I have a defective model, or did it not come with blue lights up there? I just assumed that they weren't present...
