ABC To Remake Spooks?

I just had to search if others thought 'TNG on BBCA' was as dumb as we do. Lots of linkies!

From Alpha Bits:

'Star Trek: The Next Generation' On BBC America? Really?

BBC America made a move so unexpected, it may have even caught its British fans off-guard.
This week, the cable channel from across the pond began airing episodes of "Star Trek: The Next Generation." Nothing wrong with that, as TNG is a very popular program. But many fans are trying to figure out what, besides Patrick Stewart and Marina Sirtis, makes the American-produced TNG British?
Apparently, it doesn't matter, according to a BBC America spokeswoman. The show is popular, and it's simple as that.
"We believe 'Star Trek' to be an exciting addition to our lineup -- one which we hope will also serve to complement our existing and very successful sci-fi programming," BBCA's Sarah Takenaga told Airlock Alpha. "While we understand this is not a British show, Star Trek is a massive fan favorite around the world, particularly in the U.K."
So there you have it. Not only does it star one of Britain's treasures, Stewart (even if he does play a Frenchman), but it's popular enough to become a successful part of BBCA's lineup.
Catch episodes week nights at 8 p.m. and 11 p.m. ET on BBC America. -- [Airlock Alpha]
