ABC Family Cancels Kyle XY

Going to miss Amanda she is so beautiful  thank god am near her age I can get away with certian thoughts

But, there has been a noticeable decline as the show has gone on. This mythology the writers are trying to build is just coming off as blah. The show worked best when Kyle was new to the world and discovering new things about everyday life. That naiveté was the show's charm, in my opinion.

As much as I like the show, I kind of agree with this. What drew me in was the fact that it was a fairly compelling family drama (one that dealt with some issues that were surprisingly mature and serious, considering it was on ABC Family) that just happened to have a nice hint of sci-fi. In the latter part of Season 2, they went a little overboard with their own mythology, with too much time devoted to Kyle and Jessi's abilities, as well as the mystery of Latnoc.

I appreciate the fact that they gave us answers, but I preferred it when Kyle didn't know so much about himself and was a virtual alien in the world. I really enjoyed looking at regular events in everyday life through Kyle's unique POV.

Apparantly attempts are under way to save the show and even supernatural fans have joined the act saying that are willing to help don't know why but I love them now  Only way to save it is for the ratings to go back into 2 million for majorty of last episodes but Network TV is too strong...

24, House and Heroes are on same night

Yes because let's make a spinoff to a show that was canceled after three seasons and 43 episodes! I'm sure a spinoff would work better!

Jax, ABC has shown many times recently that they don't know how to manage a schedule worth a rat's ass. Pretty much everything you described could also apply to Pushing Daisies and the way they treated it...

Not to mention Eli Stone.

Eli Stone's material made it seem like a 8pm show to me and not 10pm.

I'll agree with that. I still liked the show. It's nice to see hope portrayed every once and awhile, not just another sex crime or Murder trial.

Of course, I'm also a sucker for musical numbers. Another thing Pushing Dasies occasionally had going for it too.

Also: (Reposted from another thread's reply but actually On Topic here.)

I'm still hoping they'll figure out a way to wrap Kyle XY's storyline.

I don't care about the Latnoc plot line either, I just want to see what happens between Josh & Andie. Ah Hell, Deckland & Lori for that matter.

I need character resolution, at least of existing threads.

I can't bring myself to care about this series anymore.

The first season was brilliant. There was so much promise, so much we didn't know about Kyle. Was he an alien? Was he a genetic experiment? A time traveler? So many directions they could take it.

And then season two fucked it up ... Oh, he's a clone and there's this big shadow corporation called Zixxiz (or whatever) that are monsters trying to hunt him down, even though they've known where he is for a year, and the security guard is involved and the scientist he's a clone of is watching his every movie.

Then season three comes along. Now it's Latnok, they don't even mention Zixxiz anymore, every other word is Latnok, and suddenly there's another clone only with more super powers and she's crazy and follows the "crazy ex-girlfriend" pattern by stalking him and trying to hurt his "family" and blah blah.

Season four starts up and I've had enough. It took me two tries to get through the first episode this year, and after re-watching an episode from the first season, it just confirmed my opinion ... I didn't leave the show. The show left me. I haven't watched since.

The series simply is no longer fun or entertaining. What started out as a light hearted fantasy series has morphed into some weird hodge-podge combination of hard science fiction meets Teh Teen Drama! like Sarah Connor Chronicols meets Gossip Girl.

The show is actually only on season 3, season 2 was super long at 23 episodes.

I loved season 1, and I liked how we got a ton of answers in season 2 first episode. I even longed the first part of season 2, where Kyle is being trained, but I don't know what's going on now.

Whatever happened to that company that wanted to use Kyle? I still don't understand what info they were trying to get out of him, I guess it's because I stopped caring.
