ABC Draws fire for new comedy.....

Well, it's not worth getting in a rage. The show is a comedy, which in this case is a "fish out of water" scenario. As one who loves the series "Bosom Buddies" and the movie "Tootsie", I can honestly say it didn't bring me to harbor ill will towards transgendered or transvestite individuals, because they were comedies, not documentaries trying to prove something. I think groups like GLAAD are underestimating their supporters. There's no need to get into a fit of rage or start a write in campaign.

I saw a similar article on Huffington Post. I also saw the trailer and I don't understand why they were upset about it. It look silly.

People need lives. LEGO is releasing a "girls' theme" of sets and people are upset saying it's too girly with 5 pink blocks. I mean really, this is what happens when no one has jobs.

I give the show 5 episodes before being canceled for being bad!

You have seriously gotta be effin' kidding me! Where were these dim-witted morons when "Bosom Buddies" or "Tootsie" came out????

I don't care about this show one way or another, but let's not pretend that attitudes and sensitivities are the same today as they were 30 years ago.

Good point.

But, ahem, "Charlie's Aunt" anyone? This plot dates back to way before "Bosom Buddies" or "Tootsie" . . . .

I saw a promo for this show on TV yesterday evening, and I think that its biggest problem is not that it's making fun of transgenders or that it's treading ground already covered by Bosom Buddies, Tootsie, Charley's Aunt or even Two Gentlemen of Verona. No, the thing which is most likely going to sink this thing is that it looks dumb - painfully, awfully dumb. Unless the promo was completely off, the show has one stupid joke—men in dresses, portrayed with all the subtlety of a frat party burlesque—and that's all it's got.

I agree, but I do think organizations like GLAAD have a lot more important matters to attend to than a low-rate comedy show. As I said before, if this were a documentary, and it was stating that this behavior is typical of transvestites or transgender (let alone the average male), then I would be right there with GLAAD in denouncing such stupidity. I think in their haste to protect those whom they represent, they're overreaching, and it helps no one for them to do it so publicly.

I'm the G-man and I approve this message.

Why get upset about a stupid show that will probably be cancelled three episodes into it's run. It's only offensive cause it looks so irredeemably awful, unfunny and stoopid. It's not even worthy of getting a tiny bit annoyed.

Agreed.

Also: I was listening to the radio the other day, and they were talking about the show, that the premise: Because there's a "man-cession" the only way for these guys to get jobs is to dress as women. Which, of course, begs the question: which mirror universe does this take place in?

This show will quickly die.

Folks need to grow thicker skin. Frankly with gay kids committing suicide, and potential future presidential contenders making statements about gays that I find offensive and I'm not even gay, giving any concern to a sitcom that'll be cancelled in 6 episodes simply makes the activist groups look stupid and lessens the impact of other messaging that might actually save lives.

The only controversy here is the premise of the show sounds so much like Bosom Buddies that I wouldn't be surprised to see someone raise a stink about that. If nothing it proves there are no original ideas left in Hollywood.

I would think it'd be easier an any large group to take an attitude of zero-tolerance over this sort of thing, I mean who'd want to sit on the committee that had to decide whether an issue that they thought stepped over the line was worth commenting on or not?
