Deadline Hollywood is reporting that CBS has picked Medium up and that Eleventh Hour has been cancelled.
Well, Law & Order goes back to the Friday death slot that nearly killed it a few years ago. I guess that cements next season being its last.
Day One, which I think is an American version of a remake of a British miniseries (correct me if I'm wrong) looks like a good concept. The tenants of an apartment complex band together to survive a Mad Max/Jericho/The Road-like catastrophe.
I'd rather have Jericho back. There was something intriguing about seeing farmers - used to a certain level of self-sufficiency - in this scenario. A bunch of city slickers from Van Nuys, ugh."Day One" tells the story of life on earth following a global catastrophe that has devastated the world's infrastructures. Beginning with the immediate aftermath of the cataclysmic event, an eclectic band of survivors -- played by Adam Campbell ("Date Movie"), Catherine Dent ("The Shield"), Julie Gonzalo ("Eli Stone"), David Lyons ("ER"), Derek Mio ("Greek"), Carly Pope ("24"), Thekla Reuten ("Sleeper Cell") and Addison Timlin ("Cashmere Mafia") -- strives to rebuild society as they unravel the mysteries of what happened and face their uncertain future. The group, all residents of one apartment building in suburban Van Nuys, Calif., embarks on a quest for survival and discovers that hope is found in small victories -- and heroes are born every day.
I'm a little surprised to see CBS picking up Medium. I mean, CBS picking up a show that even NBC didn't want? How odd. And pairing it with Ghost Whisperer could either be really smart or really misguided -- I'm thinking it'll more likely be the latter, but we'll see. I just think the two shows are too similar for their own good, but I could be wrong (I'll admit, I've never watched either intently).
